Hi Neroter,

Yeah, sales are down a lot. No different than the last five years, though. The cycle hasn't changed.

As far as I'm concerned, now's the time to build inventory for late summer and fall. Sales will definitely pick up once kids are back in school, etc.

Right now I'm concentrating on buying things to sell then. A whole new category for me. But, easy to photograph, even easier to ship so I figure, what the heck, give it a shot, right?

So nice to take a break. I'm glad eBay's not a big deal for me, income-wise. A good bonus but nothing I need to pay the bills.

Oh MIG, Lucy, I'm always ready for a vacation, just can't afford one.

You know, Sanmar, it's really kind of silly...

You and I both live in an area that's one of the hottest vacation spots in the country. Do we EVER drive over to Montana de Oro and climb on the rocks? Go down to Santa Barbara and noodle around? Dig clams at Pismo Beach? Have lunch at the Madonna Inn?

Nope. Well, we do if there's an estate sale going on, right?

Hi Diane,
Thanks for the note. I was just curious, so I am glad that you responded.

I am not looking to elbow into your niche (I know you weren't saying that at all), I was just interested in seeing what you sell.
But that is totally cool.
I'd love to chat with you sometime about it all.
I am very glad that is is going well for you.
All the best,
~Wonderful

Sales way down for me...This is usual though. I am going to Disney in July and then going to spend the rest of the summer unpacking my new house and working on my Non-Ebay business (Jewelry Design)
Once the fall comes I can barely keep up sales are so good. I hope for that come this fall/winter season again.

Lucy have a great time at your son's wedding-I saw the other post with your dress. It's fantastic! It should be fun experiencing so much different culture from your own and how wonderful it is for you all to accept each other with open arms!

Bizzy-Good for you in all your success-Get a game plan for the Christmas season-If you are doing well you should be doing even better then and at some points may get overwhelming-Prepare

Hi Junebug,

Yes, it's typical for eBay. The summer doldrums followed by the fall blitz! Kinda nice in a way, we can take some time off.

Your jewelry design business... Do you need vintage parts? Just thought I'd ask. I have a fairly large pile of broken bits and pieces of pretty old jewelry. Lots of colored rhinestones in the mix.

I can hardly wait for the wedding! Thanks for mentioning it.

It's gonna take three days for them to get married.

First evening is the Mehndi (henna paint on the hands and in some cases, I'm told, feet.) My hands are going to be done, not sure about my feet.

Next day is a Hindu prayer service where my son is touched with red powder. Feet are washed too. A nice thought - both are pure and clean and ready for each other.

Day three is the wedding itself. The ceremony starts at 9 and goes until about noon. Then there's a break unti 6:30 when the reception starts. I'm told once the "old people" stuff ends the dancing begins and goes on into the wee smalls! I think I'll head for my hotel as soon as it's appropriate.

Classic -- LOL ... But really, even through the generations, did any parents understand the music of their kids? I don't think most of them do. I know that no matter how hard I try to understand rap (Eminem, for example)I haven't got a clue. I think it's bad music. And my parents thought that Led Zep, Jethro Tull, etc. were bad music. Just as your parents thought that Elvis, the Beatles, etc. were bad music. I just wonder what the music is going to sound like when my 5 year old daughter is a teenager! Now, I'm really scared!!!!

Thanks, Tessa. I'm really looking forward to the wedding.

As far as the comic strip, I think Bill Keane wrote a childrens' book called Go to Your Room. And I think in The Simpsons Homer is always telling Bart to do that.
