I thought if anyone would get a laugh out of that accusation, it would be you. LOL! I think dbest has accused all of us at one time or another of being an eBay employee!

"Next start you a brand new account with ebay using a new account name and address with a new phone number (cell phone)or whatever."

QQ..if that aint fraud what the hell is it?
------------------------------

..2 infractions of nondelivery...again, if you read the thread...it sounds as if "unforunately a bit late." was due to the seller not shipping on time.

annnnnd,
"they buyers never notifed ebay..."
wellllll, duh?!
--------------------------
i myself opened up a pandora's box recently on this forum with a problem i should not have let get "too complicated."
---------------------
and, XXX, april, and all the other soothsayers of doom should read davebraun's
thread very carefully...some of us win, some dont...

FINALLLLY 2 QUOTES THAT BEAR REPEATING, REDUNDANTLY REDUNDANT AM I:

"they buyers never notified ebay," and, "The key to working with them is to keep your records meticulously."

I was quick to judge other's Pay Pal horror stories until last week. I had a buyer that paid for a $224 item - I shipped it United Parcel with tracking. 32 days later I open up my Pay Pal account and I am in a minus balance (not really a balance I realize). No email from Pay Pal...nothing. They stopped an in-progress transfer to my bank..but I was still minus $67. I called Pay Pal several times...asking why I was not contacted & given 3 days notice to provide my delivery number. The last call I made said the payment had been on an unauthorized credit card....the credit card company had taken the money back and Pay Pal could do nothing about it. I was out the money and the item. I contacted Ebay and the buyer is now No Longer Registered...but this buyer had bought many things since mine (mostly all over $100 amd some far more...when I sold to her her feedback was excellent and she was an 87) and I am sure some of those sellers are in the same place I am. A lose of both the money and the item. I have sold on Ebay and this is the first time this has happened to me...to just open your account and find the money gone is not a happy feeling!!! I now listen carefully to stories about Pay Pal...after all I never even thought about something like this happening...but it does!

How is your situation PayPal's fault? Your buyer used a fraudulent credit card. It happens to the best of merchants and it's happened to me. The only way to totally protect yourself is to accept money orders only. Even checks are not safe because you can stop payment on them. I accept PayPal because it is convenient for my customers. You would have had this problem even if you used another credit card processing company. However, I do cringe for awhile when I sell a high priced item and they use a credit card. 87 is not very high feedback. I check to see what these people have bought in the past. I've seen people buy $.01 coupons in large numbers to get their feedback up and them, wham, they scam the heck out of sellers of high priced items. It's risky, no doubt.

Edited to add: The OP has apparently disappeared. Leads me to believe there is not truth in his story at all. Seems the OP would rather waste our time.

bluebarn,
just curious, did you ship to confirmed address??
The OT is probably reading this thread ,he just does not want to say much.
See,this is what happens when we think ebay/paypal rules are too complex and we decide to concoct a way to get around their rules.
Paypal rules-one person, one account;do not link to other people's bank account;do not go to any of the countries on their prohibited list and log on to your account, your account will be restricted.

Cheryl, I enjoy your posts and you pointed out valid issues. But you wrote, "OTOH, if you follow the rules....". I'm sorry, but if all the rules at eBay and Paypal were in writing half of the posts here would never be made. Many posts here are sellers conferring among each other trying to figure out the eBay landscape without a complete map. 'nuff said.
