Hi to all,
I'm new on this forum and have some of the usual newbie questions, which I'm sure have been asked a gazillion times before, but here goes...

First of all, is there a way to search for a topic, so I don't have to post a question that has already been answered?

Also, is there a way to mark threads as read, so they don't show up as NEW all day long, unless something really new has been added?

One more - Can I set the viewing to a default Active Listings only, instead of it always coming up for last 20 days?

Hmmm. I can't help you with the search function. Others here can. I just don't use it and never remember how.

On my Ebay Outlook page, with all the thread titles, the threads I haven't read are in a blue color; the threads I have read are in a lighter, rather purple color. (I suppose that wouldn't help someone who's color-blind, but you probably aren't!) Check it out and see if this is true on your computer.

Also, if you have a technical question related to Vendio, go to the "Vendio Services" threads (listed below Ebay Outlook when you click on Community) and try there first.

Good luck!

Search: go to http://web.archive.org/web/19991013082649/http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/

This is the oold AuctionWatch page (Vendio's original name). At the bottom of the page on the left is a search box. Be sure to click on "also search msg. ctr."

This will search the new Vendio stuff as well as old stuff from when this was Auctionwatch.

This forum is run as an adjunct to the Vendio Family O' Products. So it lacks a lot of the niceties you'd expect from a forum centric site.
OTOH, it's got a lot of folks with chops who chill out here, so it's worth perusing. I learn something every day, whether I want to or not.
I'd take this one, with it's B*@#h slap replies, puerile comments, and Crabby Appletons, over one with perennial blabberfests any day.

It's true.

Oh, I hope I'm not the one ruining the neighborhood ! LOL

Thanks for the link to the Search. That should help. And also the tip about the right forum for these kinds of questions.

As for the different colors when you've read all the posts in a thread, I don't get any change in color. Wonder why??? I'm on FireFox at the moment, so that might be it. I'll try again when I have time and see if there is a difference when I use IE.

I see my sig is still not doing what I want it to do.

[*]type the url in here[/*] Leave out the * and that should do it. You can practice if you want because just look in the upper right corner and you will see edit which only appears on the persons question or answer. Click edit it will take you back to the original post and you can take out or put in what you want. I hope this helps.

When a new topic appears it is always on the top. If someone has answered a thread it also goes back to the top. You will see the word new next to the topic if something new has been added. If nobody responses to a question it just goes farther down the list.
I hope that makes sense...

Welcome..

I took out the DIRTY BUTTER ESTATES part and it will have to do, I guess. I really wanted only the all caps part to show as a hot link to our store.

As for the change in color when a thread has been read, it is the FireFox keeping me from seeing it. IE does show a difference. I changed the color of my Visited Links in FireFox, but it didn't help. I'll put up with it, as this is still in beta.

Just as a point of information to any other FireFox users on this forum. I was able to get my choice of red as a Visited Links indicator by changing my Viewing History from zero to 1 day in the Tools/Options/Privacy setting. NOW I can tell what I've already visited. Much better!

I don't know what preference I checked or where it is, but I see a yellow star when there is a new posting to an existing thread or a new thread here...
edited..I guess it isn't a star. It's the word "new" in yellow LOL

I see the yellow NEW as well, but without a little tweaking I couln't tell which "NEW" posts I had read. I really like the forums where you can click one button and mark all posts read. Then when you come back, you REALLY see what's new to you.
