We have a Drop Center (two actually, but we're closing one) in an affluent area. We haven't scratched the surface yet, I don't think, but the work is grueling. Want a job? Where do you live? I'm only half kidding.
that being said, I have taken a pretty good picture of a diamond ring inside a styrofoam cup. something about the way the light reflects on the stone etc etc. your pictures just look a little flat when it comes to the stones. otherwise they are technically nice.

Thanks for the link. I've always had trouble with jewelry (not watches so much), but rings, earrings, etc. I'll have to look into it.
I had never taken a picture of anything other than my family or a sunset as of this April. Learning to take product photographs has been a steep learning curve for me, especially since I can't devote all of my time to learning, and I don't have free rein on investing in equipment.

Love that link too glassgl. I have a friend who want to sell some rings on ebay and it will really help her out.
Let me try the item # again 3769350441
It's in the want to buy it section under antique. If you still can't pull it up just type in font under antique and someone is looking for a Fostoria burner.

Should have listed it together.... The lamp is an ALL original Fostoria and the globe is original to the lamp.
Everyone thinks a GWTW lamp should have matching globes because all the reproduction lamps in the 70's were made that way, but the orginals were not always like that.
It should have a small smoke globe, but not having one should not affect the price at all.
Edited to add- price without globe, up to $100, price with globe, probably closer to $200.
But you might get lucky and have a buyer smart enough to buy it for the burner only and that will run the price up.
BTW, I love your auctions too, I've been watching them for a while now and have even bid from time to time, but you get such good prices, that I have yet to win.

cash - can you photomerge? merge two pics into one? if so, you can "add" another photo to your already running auction showing them a picture of what the lamp looks like with the shade you have listed also. might drive the price up and get them to bid heavily on the two.
you would also want to add some type into the picture and say that the shade is available in another auction - but I'd show them how good it looks on the lamp....because I think it looks gorgeous together! they might not be able to picture it that way.

I have to admit (though by now it might go without saying) that I don't know much about lamps. The "consensus" originally was that we should separate them. Truth be told, the shade doesn't feel very snug with the burner; it doesn't feel like they originally went together.
I will discuss it with my partner tomorrow. We haven't listed the shade yet.
Glassgrl, it isn't crude at all; I can probably do it in Photoshop Elements (my usual tool). BTW, I ordered some tortilla warmers, but they're out of stock where I ordered. I'll look for some elsewhere. Jewelry has been my weakest subject so far, and I really appreciate your suggestion.

ebabetreasures, they are looking for a burner with different dimensions to the one we have. Thank you very much for extending yourself on my behalf; this is really a nice community here.
