that cleardot.gif is a blank gif file.

The cleardot,gif is used to bring up the camera icon on your auction listings. If you post it here, at most you'll get a small white dot appear  .
If you've uploaded your image to AW, try using this path, inserting the image file name and removing the asterisks ** :
[*img]http://imagehost.auctionwatch.com/preview/ba/ballsandstrikes/insert-the-image-name-here[*/img]

Don't worry about it, Cyanide, you'll get better with practice. Took me awhile and I'm still not quite there.

This may sound really stupid , but if my picture is stored in image hosting at AW , and I click on it , is that the URL (in my browser ) that I put between the[*img]and[*/img]? In other words , how do I find the correct URL?

uglimouse, right click on the preview picture...copy and paste the address that comes up in the dialogue box.
