It makes Ebay CEO looks like a fool in front of his peers-just what kind of outfit is he running?
Why would any decent person want to come and buy on Ebay when they see an item sells for one penny and shipping is 35 and insurance is 25??
Jeff Bozo of AMZN finally got rid of the one penny bookseller by raising the minimum price to ?? cents.

If eBay puts a ceiling on shipping costs, they should eliminate the S/H $ DSR. Why should buyers rate S/H costs if, by mandate, they are deemed by eBay to be in the reasonable range?

Don't make the mistake of assuming everyone's business is like yours.
There are sellers who, by virtue of what they sell or their own physical limitations, must pay a packing service like the UPS Store to prepare their shipments. I see absolutely no problem with this as long as the cost is disclosed in the listing so the buyer is made aware.
Caps on s/h costs will put these people out of business...and for NO GOOD REASON.
Keep your nose out of it, eBay!
People have been whining about my shipping fee for years. Too effing bad. I don't work for free, and neither do the temps ($16.00 an hour around here) I have to hire when things get really busy and the shipping piles up.
eBay can't have it both ways. They can't decide that the ideal core auctions start at 99 cents no reserve, then cap shipping. That doesn't even make any kind of sense.

Most Ebay bidders take shipping and handling cost into consideration when they bid,so the only reason why Ebay intervenes is that they are missing out on their fair share of the FVF.
This is the #1 motive behind their move.
As for people with physcial handicap who charge more on shipping, unless it is a charity auction meant to benefit them, they are going to be treated just like any seller.

flufF: you are right on. If the shipping is stated, then bid or pass depending on what you see as the value of the item. How can Ebay dictate that accurately??
I pass on many items sold online, not just Ebay, or through catalogs or sold on TV, etc. if I think the shipping is too high, but that is my choice and the vendors choice.

But do these vendors sell their merchandise riculously LOW? like one penny? so they dont have to pay commission to the venue provider?
What would Christie and Sotheby say if all their clients want to start their bid at one dollar and happy that it ends at one dollar and fifty cents and charge one million for shipping and handling.
