Not a new subject I know, but why all of a sudden is it appearing in my auctions? I don't have anything checked to invite it in that I know of. Can you help please? You mentioned on a "per listing" thing, but I didn't see anything on the listing form when I listed a bunch of auctions mentioning this check out option. I don't want it and now it appears that I'm stuck with it on my current auctions....not a happy camper here. Thank you.

Hello,

Did you have these launched from your inventory? Were they scheduled for launch for a while?

Sonya, I don't use the inventory feature. Just plug along one at a time. The auctions showing the button were created earlier in the day yesterday and schedule to launch last evening. The button hadn't appeared in the prior batch of auctions and I didn't change anything in my defaults in between. Interestingly, I sell under two IDs and had the auctions on the other ID launch last evening too ... they don't have the button on them. Profiles and defaults are the same on both IDs so I just can't figure this out. I need to create more auctions today but can not do it until I get this resolved. I do not want the button. I do business the old fashioned one on one way and my buyers like it. Thanks so much for any help.

Hello,

Did you have the auto WBN set and had the Checkout button always been off? Also, were these created online or in pro, and was your previous batch created in pro? I apologize for all the questions -- I do see you have it off in your preferences so if anything else launches with it, we will know for sure there is definitely a problem somewhere.

Regards,

Sonya

Hi Sonja,
WBN not set, Checkout has always been off. The auctions were created online as all my auctions are. As I said, I don't have any of the bells and whistle features in play. I do it all the hard way (to some). Not a large volume seller and do it all with the personal contact method. I send my own winner notification. Shall I take the chance and try another new auction to see what happens?

Hi Romantiques,

If you have something you would like to list, go ahead and try. I double checked all your settings and it should not launch with it on, unless you inadvertantly select it.

OK. Launched a new one and the button didn't show up this time. The only thing different is that I lauched it now instead of scheduling a time later in the day. Could that be the glitch? I didn't do anything else different. Were the gremlns working last night? This is a mystery. I really would like to know if the scheduling a different time made the difference because I usually do it that way due to my available time on the computer. Thanks Sonja.

Hello rubys100,

Which item did this happen on? We would like to check the records and verify that it was saved with that button unchecked for you.

Hi, I closed out that auction on ebay and relisted the item again.
However, a new listing popped up with the checkout button, item # 3500107180, this was NOT a relist. I had to also close out this auction, and actually go back to my account preferences which seem to have changed even though I haven't had the checkout button appear since you started that particular feature, and haven't had to change that preference since that time.
Something has changed somewhere in AW.
Also this is happening on some of my relists, something that wasn't happening yesterday,or last week etc

I have also had the check-out button turn up on one of my auctions - #3113927313. this is an item that I relisted. I have never used AW checkout - like the previous poster, I prefer to do things one on one the simple way. Why is this darn thing popping up. When I wrote AW previously about the checkout, they assured me that I would have no problem with it as I have never used any of the sevices other than listing. Please help.

Hi Jane,

Which item was this a relist of?

I checked, and the details stored with this item do have the checkout option enabled. I would like to check that versus the systems stored information on the original.

Hi Christopher,
Thanks for checking. The original number of the item I relisted was 1921865254. I have never used AW checkout or any post sale options, so I cannot understand why it would show up on a relist or any other time. The only thing I use on AW is picture hosting and listing services. I absolutely do NOT want the checkout button on my auctions, and I would appreciate it if you would remove any codes that would cause it to appear. I have limited time to do my listing and do not want to have to go through multi-step, time-consuming procedures to fix or remove something that I do not want and will not use. Any help will be appreciated.
Regards,
Jane

Howdy, I have the same problems as the others reporting on this thread. Checkout showed up uninvited. My Auction profile had been changed to "on" but not by me. I unchecked the apropreate box, but they still have the AW Checkout feature, on ones i had scheuled after i had turn it off. Since i do Pay for this service, and it's taken so much of time away from what i should have been doing (listing auctions) how much $ can i expect to be reimburst for my time spent trying to straighten out this Mess?
Paypal will be fine.
Thanks, Terry

I see the checkout button was added w/o my approval. I turned it off after a lot of effort. I had to unschedule/reschedule all my auctions. A check box which I never checked had to be unchecked. I don't need or want an automated checkout!

Hi Christoper,

I just scheduled 6 items for relisting and on 5 out of the 6, the AW checkout button was checked. Fortunately, I caught it before they went on, but there must be some sort of glitch that is making this show up when it has NEVER been selected. As I said before, I do not use AW checkout or any other of the post-sale features.

Hi Jane,

Where did you schedule those 6 itmes from?

Were they items already created and in someplace like inventory, or your pending section, or?

Why is is that AW STILL has not fixed the check out button problem?
I just relisted an item, looked it up on ebay and found that the check out feature is on my auction.
I had to cancel the auction and I now have to relist it.
This is costing me money!
Item # 2710493020.
This did not start being a problem until last week!.
I should not have to uncheck the option each and every time I relist an item...

Hello rubys100,

If the item you go to relist had the checkout option turned on the first time around, unless you remove it before you launch, the relist will as well.

Preferences do not override what already exists.

Hi Christopher, no way!
I never EVER turned on the check out button. Never needed it, never wanted it!
This is a problem that has just started occurring recently.
I relist all the time and only since last week has this been happening.
Please research this, it seems to be a problem with AW.
Don't blame the user!

Hi Christopher, when ebay tried forcing us to use their checkout feature, most users hated it and ebay had to back down and make it optional.
If AW automatically turned on the checkout feature on all closed auctions, it is the same thing as having it forced upon us.
Again, I should no have to turn off this feature each time I relist!

Hi, not to rant (too much), but, this was an old item I relisted and the check out feature was not even available then, so how could I have turned on the feature back then?
Not to continue ranting, but I do so hate it when AW blames the user.

Hello,

My apologies if you misunderstood my statement as to say you did something specifically wrong.

What I am saying is that if there was an error that caused some of your items to display this, when you relist those items, they will also have this show up in them.

We by no means are forcing anyone to use this. Unlike the eBay checkout fiasco, we do give the option to disable it in your preferences, and have since day one.
It was however defaulted on to start with, but only in accounts where the automatic WBN was being used. (that was how it was setup to work anyway) This was done because the checkout is essentially just another way to access the WBN, not really a new tool of any kind. If you use the WBN, it was just another way to get your customers to use it, ideally eliminating extra work for you.

There were a few glitches, that have since been corrected, that made it possible for the checkout option to be turned on regardless of preferences or use of the automatic WBN. Unfortunately, those items will need to be manually edited before you relist them, or the relist will also have the checkout option appear.

Please let us know if you have further questions on the issue.

I'm experiencing the same problem with AW Checkout appearing without an invitation. I have never requested AW Checkout and it is unchecked in Preferences. I have never utilize WBN either. I THINK, it doesn't happen with new listings but only on relistings even though I have (after reading many other postings of problems and your responses) had to uncheck the boxes before relisting. 3114857709 was a new listing and worked fine. 2614882087 and 2614689263 was relists and was when I discovered the problem. 2615080832 & 2615084532, I unchecked before relisting but it still appeared on the 261080832. These relists existed in "Closed" before Checkout ever existed so why is it there now and why should I have to manually uncheck (even that obviously doesn't always work). So they are there and I'm just waiting to see what complications arise when the auctions close. PLEASE HELP!

Hi Cher47,

For the listings that have checkout in them -- did you do anything differently when relisting those items? I've checked all your preferences and am confirming you have WBN and checkout turned off. It should not appear on any new listings that you are doing.

Sonya

Hello.....Methinks there is something afoot! I NEVER enabled the Checkout option. Do NOT like it! BUT All of my auctions now show the pitch for checkout.
Some were relists, others original in the past couple of days -- none were from inventory. Point is - THE FEATURE WAS NEVER ACTIVATED BY ME! and I just checked and it is not currently activated. What have you done? I have no time to give you each and every one of the numbers, I think you can "Search" for my auctions and access them easily and PLEASE take it OFF!!! I have been a user (and huge FAN of AuctionWatch, but am losing confidence in your integrity).
Must be some explanation.

Hi Sonya,
No I didn't do anything differently when relisting. I utilized the closed auctions, clicked edit, made minor changes to listing including unchecking the checkout box and the second one (can't remember what it was), clicked save, and then determined launch date and time. Thanks for the help!

Hello shopchicly,

I have checked your account, and I see that some of your active items feature the checkout button, whereas some do not. Can you tell us, did you ever have auto-WBN enabled, and did you recently disable this feature? I realize that it is not enabled now.

Thanks,

Diana
