(long)
In light of the butterfly fairy issue, I am bouncing my thread. I have made a faux pas(sp?). (1) By using my eBay ID to post, and (2)Starting this thread not realizing the extent of my actions. My bad, I tried to clear that up on page 3.
*My apologies*
if you want the story, here's the history:
I had no idea that I should use any name other than the one I had registered with at AW. (okay, I was ignorant). I didn't even know there was a board here until 6 mos later (I had never lurked or posted ~ I was a virgin). The first thread I posted on was the empty playstation box (EO). You may remember combatboots started a RT thread to help me out. A few of you bashed her when she posted as notreallyme. You see, my initiation here included some nasty auction interference as a penalty for my opinions. If it's that important to you, you can still find the threads. Actually, I'm not really sure why I stuck around, but I did.
TMALSS
When I stopped listing auctions through AW, I no longer needed to keep my "convenient" name. I took the opportunity to stop using that handle.
no biggie (or so I thought!)
Sorry for any confusion, I apologize for any unwarranted drama, and, although I am flattered, I could never hold a candle to my pal rocker (I guess we just smooooch alike!)
no fresh start needed, no hidden agenda, I just chose to learn from my mistake.
I hope some of you will learn from yours (roxy) and try to be the kind of neighborhood people want to move to ~ we don't need to agree with each other, but we do need to respect each other.

Hi Zoomin... I personally don't think you owe anyone any explanations for changing your ID. There are many, MANY here who have seen first hand (myself included) the damage that can be done by having your AW ID the same as your Ebay ID. Some posters here are just cruel, mean and vicious.

we don't need to agree with each other, but we do need to respect each other

Well said! Wouldn't it be nice if everyone could just get along instead of always bashing one another?

That's sounds like a bashing statement.

Thanks EG!
I don't think I owe anyone an explanation, either. I've never been much of the mysterious type, though!
It wasn't really a "secret", just a precaution for the future.
Sometimes we just gotta throw precaution to the wind. As long as the wind didn't come from Barry(I'll fart and blame it on you)Barris

See what I mean? I was not bashing ANYONE. I was making a general statement. If there were no posters here who were rude, cruel, etc - we wouldn't have moderators. We also wouldn't have posters who were constantly warned or suspended.

LOL

I could have said "it's a beautiful day outside today!"

And someone would have had to turn that around and pick it apart and make it into something else, or found a way to make trouble with it.

There have been a few change their name because someone got too upclose and personal off the internet. Some of you folks know each other off line but some don't want their door knocked on.

Zoomin, You really did not have to apologize for wanting to change your ID here. I had no idea who you had been and it didn't matter to me. I liked you just the same and find you to be fun and entertaining.

I changed my ID about a year ago [I think] and did it very publicly ,but then, I only changed it because I tired of the old one. Had I changed it due to auction interference I doubt if I would have let anyone know either.

The fairlyblossom thing was completly different. Please do not think it reflects on YOU in any way becasue it doesn't! People tried to guess who you used to be because they like you , that's it. Nothing at all nefarious that I could see.

rawbunzel,

Do you think people tried to link posts of mine to someone else because they like me too?

Geez, Inside. Could be.

Sorry, your case is different again. You are more controversial than fun [sorry no insult intended just truth as I see it - although I like you and enjoyed our evening together! LOL]People always want to figure out if the controversials are someone they used to know.
Just the way it is.

Middle of the roaders and the low key posters are the safest from prodding and poking.

Board life! Is it fun yet!

rawbunzel,

No insult taken.

I enjoyed our evening together too.

Personally I like a lively debate now and then. Usually it forces me to go searching on the net for information and I end up learning new things. Sometimes things that make me happy, sometimes not.

I've about decided that debates here are too insult driven to be productive. Insults don't usually bother me, but when some are obviously granted the right and others are moderated. Well that seems a bit unfair and takes out all the fun.

So while yes I can be controversial, you'll now probably find me early in debates before the vocal groups start to shout down and belittle any posts they don't agree with. Then I'll most likely quietly bow out as any meaningful conversation will only be lost.

Fortunately (or unfortunately ) I have never been a middle of the road person nor have I ever been low key.

zoomin I have to tell you that my mouth dropped to the floor when I read that you are Chepi! And, now I keep thinking I should have known that already! LOL

I hope you didn't think that anything in the newbie thread was directed at you in any way. Personally, if a person changes their name every day I don't think it's anyone's business as to the what or why of it. I'm sorry to see that you had to deal with auction interference... again, my mouth dropped open.

I hope you'll keep zoomin... love ya big!

I thought you were Rocker for some time, due to the smoooch I admire your bravery of telling who you were. I think I will sit on mine awhile longer though. But kudos to you for doing it.

I'm glad you like me. I like you, too! The harassment/interference stuff is water under the bridge. It was months ago. I'm glad I made it through my "initiation" and stuck around! There are some incredibly interesting, intelligent, insightful, and fun posters at AW. I like to call it "home".
While middle of the road might be safer, it would be boring. I tend to wear my colors on my sleeve and call 'em the way I see 'em. I also know, though, that there are other opinions than mine (they're just wrong) HA!!! hadya for a sec, didn't I?
EG:
rocker is working waaaaay too many hours. I haven't heard from her myself but others have. I miss her, too!(at least I have my tape!)

I thought you knew ~ my apologies! Gee, get a haircut around here and people don't recognize you anymore! who else uses so many smilies? or inappropriate italics& bolds?

I was MrsEasterBunny for a few days ...

Theoretically if you have multiple ids, you could have a conversation - or an argumement with yourself.

Now, THAT is something that would be funny!

Quite frankly, I am glad to know all of you - I don't care who you are in real life, or who you were before in a past life on AW. There are many wonderful and helpful people here.

Of course, with all the farting going on in here I am very happy this is a virtual room ... LOL

Happy eBaying all!
