cashinyourcloset: you might be missing what i am saying. i said i use my own computer to store the photos. no image hosting needed. i only went thru vendio/auctionwatch cause of the slowness of ebay's picture loading. I now just upload from my computer (make a new folder just for photos)to ebay, no image hosting needed. takes, maybe 15 seconds longer per auction. that may add up, but not to the tune that i am paying vendio.

i also think the important thing to not miss, is the recycle bin. just emptied mine, and cut my photos in half. I must have missed that new tab, probably have more important things to do. Vendio makes you search for stuff. of course they all do. took me a day to find "advanced search" on ebay. i probably should take an hour out of each day and just go to community announcements, and sit and read. Certainly we all have that kind of time!! NOT!!!!!!!!

bksv99: Perhaps I am missing something, but perhaps not. Are you providing a link to your photos in your auctions? If yes, then I wouldn't do it without a static IP address. DNS propagation can take hours, sometimes days to resolve when an IP address changes, so I wouldn't run the risk of having my 100+ auctions without photos for that amount of time.
When you say you "just upload from my computer... to ebay" are you saying that eBay hosts the photos (at $0.15 per additional)? If that's the case, it might work for you, but we'd be losing money (I think we average 6 photos per listing). However, if you have few photos per listing, you're correct that you probably don't benefit from image hosting.
Anyway, if you're having eBay host photos for you and it works for you, that's a good thing. I just didn't want anyone to think that hosting photos on your own is a walk in the park; having eBay host them for you is a walk in the park (that costs $0.15 for each additional footstep ). We have two static IP addresses and 6 PCs with considerable power, and we still use Vendio for image hosting.

First of all, my monthly charge has not increased because my fees cover my image hosting. A secondary account of mine gets a little dicey because it's not used that often and requires constant vigilance. I have no complaints against the new fees, but I must agree with a poster on the previous page. The use of the word "Free" could get Vendio in big trouble. It's all a matter of definition as to what "Free" means, but who makes the final definition, the state attorney general in response to a complaint, or Vendio's marketing department? This is a matter that I hope Vendio examines thoroughly and takes corrective action if needed before some militant consumer group stirs up trouble. Hell, I have enough trouble paying my own crooked lawyer, I sure don't want to have to for yours too.

sparkz,
If I were a betting man, which I'm really not, I'd be willing to lay pretty big odds on Vendio never being pursued by the DA's office... "if the image don't fit, they must acquit."

well It ain't FREE At all Even if you don't use it they charge you! I deleted images over three months ago then I got a bill for 8.00 ? cause they said oh new rule posted on website NOT sent by email to the customers so if you don't visit their site or use their services in awhile they stick it to you It's not fair. I paid that months but I clean out the deleted folder and what do you know I got new invoice this month for having the image host active And I can't disable it their instruction don't show me what they are telling me to click on to disable it So I can't Disable it!
My email to them:
Who's to keep you from billing every month after you say If I take of
this.
I won't be billed any more!
you have proven to me that it not not going to be taken care of.
and your still going to bill every month no matter what I do to resolve
this. I don't pay if I don't use your service you got me for 8.75 + 4.95
for Sept- Oct. And if you were fair you see I have no images stored on
your site and I haven't had any for over a month now.
I'm not happy at all with this. your losing a good customer over this
crap.
Ya'll billed me again this month again I cleaned out everything last
time when I got a bill I didn't think I owed but I paid it and still
getting a bill every month I want to my info taken out of this automated
billing system I don't mind paying if I use your services but I haven't
used Them in over two months I said Ok I pay the last months bill but I
am not paying this one I will file a dispute with my credit card company
if you don't take care of this please take my info out I haven't used or
stored no photo images on this site. It's not fair to bill me.
I thought I got this straight Last month. I don't want to pay for
something I don't use. Please Let me know as soon as you get this. I'm
Not very happy about this!
I was bragging to someone a few months ago about your service but I
think I've changed my mind on that with these billing practices.
I more disappointed now than any thing

I have been with Vendio a long time and will stay with them as they have been good for me as it is a good service and price. My advise to them would be to "level" with customers and make it simple. The average customer does not have a clue what the billing structure is about when reading it. When a customer gets the feeling they are being "confused into submission" then that is when they become upset. Be "upfront" with your billing Vendio and people will except it. People get upset when they feel they are being "tricked" or "suckered.
