the market goes up and down continually so to say that a recession began because of a
very gradual downward turn which began in October before Bush does not address the truth that that market left that gradual downturn
is exactly the grammar I intended, and anything else would be incorrect.

I wasn't aware two markets were being discussed, and the distinction between one, and the other, had to be made. I must have missed one somewhere.
The opinions of others, will have to be asked of those who read, and have an opinion. I do not speak for others. I notice you do not address the other issue, as to why the link was posted in the first place. Why is that Helen? Being selective are we? Besides, discussing topics on other message boards, I believe, is against the CG. I will speak no more of the matter.

I know, moderators, stick to the topic, don't address each other. I wasn't, I was just addressed, and responded.

well krs, by now, these seem to always go topic drift.
Well the thread say Chinese President Speaks Out Distainlfully of Bush
The opinions from a Communist Party Leader speaking his opinion on what he thinks of an American Republican Party President should be of concern.
It should be a concern, but not because he is a Republican its a concern, because they are checking out what he is going to be like, a threat? a? what?
I know you will say threat. And your reasoning would be because 'he's Dumbya' or stupid, or whatever.
If he is so stupid and inept, the leader of the party should look at his advisors, and those closest to him.
Did Bush make the wrong decision on the 24 that they held back from the spy plane?
I believe that is a Foreign Affair matter.
I could tell you now, what a lot of Chinese from the Peoples Republic of China think, as I have my sister in law right here, who can barely speak English, but she WRITES it well.
She speaks to her parents, who are card carrying Communist members, what *I* mean by that, is they attend meetings for the party every week, it is their church.
They are all the way Communist. BUT they did not want their daughter there at all.
She goes to NY every month to work. She goes to Chinatown there. The Chinese she knows? they don't care what their leader says. They are the younger generation. They, of course, would like to see no more Communism in their country, but this type of gov't, as we have here, would be years, decades, more to get to. As it is in what is now, Russia, again.
Its chaos there. And there are, as you know, a hellava lot more people in China.
Is our selected President a threat?
A threat to our country, the security and all?
I don't know. I would say no. I would say that we have not seen all of what he has done, or what he is going to do.

Sheesh. Even without the Russians as a direct threat, their vodka still subverts here. But the Chinese leader is a practiced diplomat who gave his opinion of dumbya as a diplomat. Where is the threat in that unless such speech brings about a childish tantrum from dumbya?
As I said, I don't think that that necessarily is the topic at hand.

Sheesh back, if no one is thinking that this Communist Leader thoughts are that Bush is NOT a threat, then why do we care what a Communist Leader thinks at all.
For chrissake that country is so desolate, and inhumane.
My brother, went and lived there, and I do not think he plans on going back.
If you think we are ruining the natural resources in this country go to China see what they have done to that BIG A** country.

It's is the Chinese economic market you should be concerned about---not their bombs.
They can just as easily start importing for their millions and millions of citizens (CUSTOMERS) from countries other than the USA if they feel they are being slighted by the USA with Bush's policies towards Taiwan and the Dalia Lama.
Economically that would not feel too good in the USA pockets.

Hello Helen!
Sorry, but today was a special day for me. I was asked for and volunteered to be a patient at a dental school for the state of Oregon Dental Board Exam. A student dentist, hopefully, passed his exam and will become a full-fledged dentist from the best dental school in the USA (Oregon Health Sciences University, School of Dentistry). I got up early this Sunday morning on Memorial Day weekend and arrived at 8:15am PDT. I then spent many hours being examined, calculated, qualified, worked on, tested, re-examined, and needing those ugly pallet-shots with long needles because it took so long they had to re-anesthetize me several times. Having finished my Good Deed for the day, I got home, I was not hungry and went to bed to sleep off the pain from my no longer numb mouth. Now, fed and refreshed, I am ready to make answer to you.
First, Helen, like Shosh suggested, I was not responding to anything that you said. Rather, I was responding to that brilliant flask of insight that I get when I uncover reasons why people do incredibly stupid things, like vote Republicans with an IQ of around 50 into office.
Next, I only want to say how wonderful it is to see how well my strategy is working: Blame the Republican Voters for what their candidates do in office. I can see by the wonderfully witty and clever posts by several of them how they came to their decision to vote morons of all stripes into political office. I can only hope that by addressing the source of our current dilemma; i.e. the Republican Voters who voted so badly, we will not have to suffer this sort of nonsense again.
It is important to understand that it is not just Jiang who is watching and commenting on this sordid affair. This spy-plane situation with the Chinese is being watched by every leader of ever country in the world. Seeing how weak Bush is and how incompetent that he is in foreign affairs, every leader in the world is making analysis: from Castro in Cuba to the Sudan to London to the leaders of the Taleban in Afghanistan to Russia and Japan and everyone else. Every one of these leaders and political organizations are now seeing how weak America is, how vulnerable we now are, and they are making their long-range plans for us. These would be plans for THEIR benefit, not ours!
Republicans can't think outside the box and clearly, they can't imagine a world beyond their boarders. The world has shrunk and especially since this century began, two oceans do not protect us. Our vital national interests are tied up around the world and in hundreds of countries. Just because we have the best military in the world and the largest nuclear arsenal doesn't mean squat with the problems that will have to be dealt with the next President. Just because we have enough nuclear capability to toast the surface of this planet twelve times over won't make OPEC lower their prices of fuel or to produce more oil. And our Best In The World military won't bring home our spy plane! However, the answer would require Republican Voters to think out of the teeny-tiny little box that is their world in order to get the correct answer to this problem. Clinton would have just merely paid the ransom money, made several crucial concessions in diplomatic policies, and it would have been one-day media coverage, two days at most. Ronald Reagan would have slipped in a stealth bomber at night and vaporized the aircraft sitting on the ground and just deal the Chinese an embarrassing defeat by sheer insanity alone. But, Bush? He's busy sucking his thumb and crying into his pillow at night, trying to figure a way out of this problem. THANK YOU REPUBLICAN VOTERS FOR KNOWINGLY VOTING IN SOMEONE WITHOUT ANY FOREIGN POLICY EXPERIENCE! NOW WE CAN ALL LOOK FORWARD TO TROUBLE IN THE FUTURE THAT WOULD NEVER HAVE BEEN THERE HAD AL GORE BEEN ELECTED INSTEAD. THANK YOU FOR SCREWING AMERICA!

Well, borillar, he DID say that he would be humble in his approach to international relations, and if that includes sucking his thumb then who are we, the American people, to question him?

AMEN!!!
As a registered Pedestrian I've found the last 2 democratic presidents (Carter and Clinton) were very seasoned in the ways of international policy. I can't see how we could have elected a southern governor and expected him to be able to grasp foreign policies. Thank God democrats would never try and pawn off a southern governor as a international politician.
(forgive me if I'm being redundant, but sometimes I just can't help myself.)
