I might be imagining it, but I thought I did see her somewhere recently. Maybe here, maybe elsewhere. Caught my eye because I hadn't seen her in awhile.

btw, I'd still like to know what's become of jamesoblivion. The whole thing seems pretty weird to me. He vanishes, I ask if anyone's seen him, and the only person who has an answer is terri, who hardly ever posts here anymore. She relates that he can't access the site for some reason, that he keeps getting an error message, and that AW is not responding to his e-mails. Yet as we all know, there are other boards. If I saw people asking about me here and was unable to answer, I'd go over to one of those places and give a holler just to let folks know I was still alive and kicking. And james has posted at other boards in the past. IMHO, something doesn't add up.

The boards are getting stranger, spaz. People are leaving, and with some of them, it isnt like them to just do it without saying something. JamesO told when he was leaving for 10 days recently, and a few weeks later, just ups and goes? Weird times. I dont know what to make of it.
Thanks for letting me know you saw her though. Change is sometimes not so fun. Changes are happening all over.

That's one of the points I made in the jamesoblivion thread. But according to terri, he didn't go -- he just can't get in. But why? If there's a technical problem, why hasn't AW fixed it yet? And when terri reported to us all there was a problem, how come no moderator said "we'll look into this" or anything like that, especially in the face of so many people expressing concern?
Can it be that there is no problem at all? That jamesoblivion is banned, perhaps? Why isn't AW answering his e-mail? Oversight? Or deliberate?
If it were a less prolific poster, I might not wonder. But james posted numerous times almost every day. And it still strikes me as damn peculiar that someone who went out of his way to give us a notice he'd be gone for 10 days hasn't posted a message on one of the other boards to let us know he's having difficulties after a few weeks.

hi spazmodeus,
I can assure you that we have indeed responded in a timely matter to jamesoblivion, and also, he is a member in good standing - perhaps he's away for the holiday weekend?

Terri broke her vow of silence and has been...corrected.
My Junkmom just completed an unsuccessful attempt to scale Mt. Everest. She was to accompany that blind guy to the summit, but had to turn back to the high camp after losing three toes on her right foot to frostbite. In her last communique' she said that she is determined to go on to the summit, has a prosthesis device consisting of a rock gripping replacement webbed toe arrangement and is only held from starting by the unusually bad weather for this time of year.

Thanks, Sara. That eliminates some possibilities. Regarding your suggestion, if true, then he's been on holiday weekend since May 5.

If he can post, and isnt (at any board, like you said, spaz), then the next question is "why not"? Is he another one that is fed up with whatever it is that made him fed up? What? Here at AW? Forums in general? Decided RL is what he wants to get back to? New job? What? Sometimes its nice to see some posters
"leave" without a word. Sometimes, it isnt, especially well liked ones, like JamesO.
Glad to hear junquemama is determined to continue on. Just hope she makes it to the top, toes or no toes. Long as she doesnt lose her fingers, so she can continue with her cartoon drawings

If you just go back and read the short grousings it shouldn't be such a shock to you. And there's no deep mystery to solve. No abducted posters being fitted with behavior modifying devices in their necks.

Spaz, they had to do with moderation issues so I wasn't going to provide them you. You'll just have to read posts rather than have them handed to you referenced. Better hurry though.

Thanks for starting that thread. As Terri mentioned, I wasn't able to post. I then got an email from Pat saying the matter was looked into and taken care of. I was planning on posting to your thread but it was locked. I kept on meaning to post something but then I got busy with life, you know how it is.

Right. You'll have others do your wading, thank you.
That wasn't James, BTW, it was an imaged copy of James that's been stored in the AW servers. They've got it now to the point that no poster need be here at all--their programs can emulate any poster simply by making restructures of past posts. A James simulation much like the apparent reappearance of characters in Nikita.
