I have been called many things, but never pondscum. Is that a bad thing? Its such a pretty slimey green. And it floats. Fish hide underneath it. Cant be all bad.

Enchanted,

It's my opinion that if you cannot discuss anything openly then why allude to it, leaving everyone here as a possible target.

Of course, I realize, since the pondscum reference was made and addressed to me that
I am possibly the target.

Take a lesson from fuzzbutt. Although the vocabulary is limited, at least she says exactly what she thinks and directs her insult or comment to the intended target.

Helen

to address my reply.

To get my remark back on topic, I will restate my definition of Pondscum and will
appreciate any other definitions, especially those that were prevalent in the past and also clarification of the definition that was alluded to while I was asleep last night and Hepburn and Enchanted were "thinking."

To all the people in America who have no tolerance for the beliefs
and lifestyles of other people and to all the individuals who believe in the obscenity called a death penality, I hereby define as Pondscum.

May chicken droppings forever define the perimiter of the pond where they live
while snakes slither in the grass nearby.

Helen

Helen, enchanted and I think all the time. Yes, I know thats dangerous. But from what you are refering to as to past episodes, it could be the same with your reference to lotsafuzz, which was also the past, and for anyone reading that isnt aware of that particular exchange, should they make sure they explain it in each and every post they make just to make SURE people know what they are talking about? I think not.

You seem to think everyone is targeting you. Relax. Its just a right of passage here.

"Its just a right of passage here."

It is?? How long does it take to be "in"? Almost like being in high school again.

Play with or at what? Aha! Thats the topic!

Cant say people are pondscum, nor that vocabulary is limited, directs insults or comment to the perceived intended target. Is that the game we are to play? Darts?

Bobbi..to me, youre already "in"

Right of passage in here is permanent deer-in-headlights look on face. Shall I preen before the bright lights? My face has it all the time, except when I get the AHA expression. Thats a completely different look.

Doggone, it just is no fun unless you have the official decoder ring. I am going to try to decipher all of this by heading to the deep caverns of the RT using encrypted code breaker (and Irene's clues).

Bobbi, I'm quite sorry I forgot to say Good Morning to you and include you in my post, it was unintentional, as I am a very forgetful person with a poor memory. In fact, I often don't address people directly with greetings, because I kick myself later for forgetting someone, just as I did this morning. I will try harder next time to include everyone.

Helen I most certainly did not direct any pondscum reference or allusion to you at all. I also would never insult you in any way shape or form, as I like you and have always treated you with respect. In fact "pondscum" is a well known reference to krs, which is why Irene posted an explanation of the past threads, although I have no idea if they are still available to read or not on the AW site.

Also I think if Hepburn and I choose to tease each other or engage in wordplay with each other I just don't see that as a bad thing on a thread entitled, Can Anyone Play? If we do it is not directed against you.

Unfortunately I don't make the AW rules that forbid me to discuss prior AW posters directly and also forbid mention of other sites. However, I must abide by those rules which AW makes on their site. Therefore, I cannot make the conversation any clearer even though I would like to.

goOD moRNing ALL.....ESPECIALLY to Enchanted, more saintly in her kindness than all the angels in heaven.
To take the time to explain that which will never be understood by those who do not wish to understand. I love a mystery and get a big kick out of the inter play of those who have known each other for a period of time and can relate with FUN to past times.
Lay on MacDuff....errr MacFluff let the games continue. I will make a gleeful audience of ONE!

Insults fortunately (if they in fact exist) are nothing more than air borne germs....we are all exposed and it depends on our own immune system how well we handle them. Better living through chemistry!!

Take a lesson from fuzzbutt. Although the vocabulary is limited, at least she says exactly what she thinks and directs her insult or comment to the intended target.that is 3 insults to another poster, in one whack

Lighten up Helen. So far, you have accused just about everyone of "targeting you". Then you commence to say all are pondscum IF they dont have tolerance for others opinions. Doesnt that whole sentence sound oxymoron-ish?

Helen[/i]

Just to be perfectly clear, I believe tinker had mentioned pondscum first not me. I'd have to go back to check that.

Second, I don't "target" people here at all. I'm surprised that you think I would do that.

Third, the pondscum reference I repeated from someone else's post was NOT made and addressed to you, and you are NOT a target of that remark.

I have NO idea what you are talking about fuzzbutt. Are you referring to Lotsafuzz? I haven't been here every day over the past few weeks and if you are referring to some interaction between you and her that I should learn from, maybe you should explain to me, as I have no idea whatsoever what you are referring to. Just so you know, I usually only read 10 or 20 percent of the threads here on the days I have time to come and read. So I'm lost too.

Maybe since it's Monday I should give up????

LOL! thanks for the hug Zilvy, you are too kind as I am far, very far from anything approaching saintliness.

Hepburn, you're right, it's much too much thinking for me on a Monday morning, especially with only one cup of coffee in me.

Java time! have a lovely day, everyone!

Enchanted,

Thank you for that clarification.

There was a misunderstanding on my part because I was not privy to the significance and the humorous definition that the word "pondscum" has acquired here.

I apologize to everyone. After really being attacked several times here in the last couple of weeks, it's not unusual that I am sensitive when such usually insulting words are discussed.

As you can see on this thread, I have done my fair share of playing so the answer to the question is yes, everyone can play here, maybe.

Helen
