I've been reading all the stuff about paypal and am wondering if something that happened last week could have anything to do with them. Although I had avoided them because their original application had obvious lies in it, I finally gave in and registered a month or so ago.
Last week, my bank asked me to close my global access card(like a credit card) because they had been notified (by Visa) that a company I had dealt with had been hacked and although there is an ongoing federal investigation, no other information could be given.
So, I'm wondering if it is really paypal that is being investigated, or if anyone is aware of another company it could be.

Don't know if this helps or not but last month my bank had to cancel my Credit Card because Egghead.com was hacked.... There's an ongoing investigation into that one too.
You could always call back and see if someone else knows/has more info.
