I sold a laptop at a substantial discount, a thinkpad 1412 with 512Mb of ram, a 15GB harddrive and an external DVD player with a decoder card for a measley $600. The guy that bought it knew he was getting $2800 of computer equipment at a steal...so he decided to just steal it. After the laptop was delivered he sent an e-mail claiming that the box was empty. The box that UPS weighed and marked as 15.4 Lbs. He then filed against me with paypal and they back-charged my account twice. So now this jerk not only stoped me from collecting the $600 but I am still $150 in the hole with Paypal...and they won't listen to me. Every E-Mail I send includes a request for documentation. I have mailed photocopies to them, they are returned with a letter asking for the origonal document. Not going to happen. I even sent the tracking number showing the dates and the delivery times but nothing. Something needs to be done. Paypal.com is holding $1145.83 of my money for no reason whatsoever.

WOW !! Man I feel sorry for you !! I have heard some bad thimgs about paypal but yours take the cake !! I would suggest that you talk to a lawyer ! Take ALL of your paper work also print out ALL e-mail that you send them and kep print outs of ALL e-mails that they reply to you!! Maybe they can do something about it!? Didn't the two of you have any insurance? In any case the A--HOLE ripped you off, and I would let everyone know it on ALL of the auction sites! Giving eveyone or sites his username or ID, so that people will not sell to him!! Sorry for you!

I SUGGEST YOU FILE A FRAUD REPORT WITH EBAY. YOU WILL GET EBAYS CHARGES REVERSED AND THEY HAVE INSURANCE ON YOUR AUCTION. PAYPAL ACCORDING TO THERE POLICY IS ONLY ALLOWED TO REVERSE THE PAYMENT AFTER THE EBAY PROCESS STATES YOU WERE IN ERROR. YOU ACCOUNTING OF THE PROCESS DOES NOT STATE WEATHER YOU HAVE FILED WITH EBAY. I WOULD FILE A POLICE REPORT ON THE MATTER. IT WILL PROBABLY GO NO WHERE BUT A POLICE REPORT ON THE MATTER MIGHT MAKE PAYPAL RE-EVALUAUTE THEIR POSTION. GOOD LUCK THIS SOUNDS LIKE A NIGHTMARE.

Can you please send me the details and any documentation that you might have to [email protected]? I would like to have this matter looked at.

All these Stories of Pay Pal... has surely scared me... I canceled my membership with them the other day because of all the Horror stories... And also after EBAY's POWER SELLERS letter.. . stated that PAL-PAL... received an Unsatisfactory Rating with The BBB(Better Business Bureau) ..That did it for me. Nice while it lasted...

SCARY STORIES. Reading the Buyer Beware, made we do a double take. I am from Canada and my story isn't all that bad, but I have been transfering funds from paypal to one of my Canadian Accounts and I noticed that the exchange rate that they have been using was an average of 5 cents less than the actual amount due. The going rate should be about $1.4715 to $1.4895 but it noticed on my last withdrawls I was only getting $1.435. Its not much but after a couple of thousand of dollars worth of "withdrawls" I have lost about $146CDN or $100USD. I cannot wait for my secure servere to come to effect.

I know what you mean I paid for an item by paypal and never received it and paypal said i could not get a refund, because it was a fraudulant account holder whom alreaady removed funds, but come to find out this person is not verified and cannot remove the amount of funds that i deposited, without becoming so- but still they refused to refund my money my bank canceled payment for non receipt of goods...Now they have suspended my account until I pay them this money! I am the fifth person to have this happen to me with this particular person you would think that they would have shut that persons privlidges off not mine... and maybe after the first incident too!
