Hello everyone,
I had a bad experience with X.com last year.
Somehow a web company (which after a long investigation turned out to be a porn outfit) got hold of my X.com account number and started charging my account $24.95 per month for hosting a website. Now, I'm really sorry I missed the pornocopia of incoming bucks, but I never owned a porn site.
The problem was partially solved after about seven long and arduous phone calls to X.com and they finally gave me a credit for most, but not all, of the charges. I immediately cancelled my X.com account then.
Well, Pay Pal is owned by X.com (or is it the other way around- never could figure that out) and my anxiety is growing about Pay Pal after reading a post in a very scrupulous and informed retail newsletter.
I am worried that Pay Pal can access my checking account, or (maybe worse) someone else can do a hack intrusion into my checking account. I intend to leave only a $100 or so in the account tomorrow morning so I know what my liability will be after I sweep the funds to another account from the checking account every other day or so.
Really, I highly recommend that you all watch out for Pay Pal. This is not a grudge, just an informed decision on my part.
