Hello,
I must admit I have never had any problems with PayPal yet **knocks on wood** but after reading the many complaints I am kind of freaked out. I also use eMartCart on my website, which is a type of shopping cart service that uses PayPal as its checkout(web accept kinda). Anyone use it? LOL I don't think so. Anyway I also have also read PayPals policies and I thought they had some kind of policy where if you sent out an item and then found out the person was a fraud they would refund you your money, PayPal that is??? Something like that, but now that I look today I can't find that anywhere on their website. I know I'm not just delirious because before using eMartCart I called them to ask about this and they also told me the same thing. I did find this though:
Examples of such a reversal include, but are not limited to, a credit card charge-back by the sender of the payment, and a reversal of the transaction because the sender of the payment was using a stolen credit card or unauthorized checking account. PayPal will seek to recover the funds from you by debiting your PayPal balance and, if there are not sufficient funds in your PayPal balance, PayPal reserves the right to collect your debt to PayPal by any other legal means. You authorize PayPal to charge your credit card or debit card in the amount of any debt to PayPal. You authorize PayPal to obtain a credit report on you in the event that you incur a debt to PayPal.
And this, which was very scary:
Close Account. You may close your account at any time, provided all applicable fees for services and account management have been paid in full. Upon closure of an account, any monies remaining in the account, less any applicable fees, will be immediately and automatically paid in full. You will remain liable for all obligations related to the account even after such account is closed.
PHEW!! ALOT OF FINE PRINT, if I can actually find anything that protects the sellers agains fraud.....haven't found anything yet. I'll quit babbling now, think I'm going to work on my website and looks like I will be canceling PayPal if I don't find what I'm looking for.
Samantha
