I have an internet storefront on which I use paypal. I jumped through paypals hoops to become verified so that my website / business would look as good as it could. I read an e mail from paypal on the 24th of June it was sent on the 19th. It read (in short) that we Pay pal are going to start telling everyone how many sales you have (which was zero at this time) starting the 30 of june. I had a total of 5 days notice of this monumental change. My problem is that I had just spent 4,000 dollars on a radio commercial here in Seattle wa. that began airing the 5th of July. Advertising my website / product. I emailed paypal several times with my concerns. I asked them if their were any options I could do. The answer was always no, no, no. Theres nothing you can do. I thanked paypal for scaring away all of my business, by telling everyone that I have zero sales. Paypal says we gave you enough time to cancel your paypal account bla bla, Ok, then I have a site with no way to accept credit card payments. And anyone knows it takes much longer than 5 days to do anything with a website business, especially when it comes to developing a whole new way to accept credit card payments over the internet, especially when a site is maintained by a professional webhost. If I were given the proper amount of time even 30 business days to make the necessary adjustments this would not be an issue. Why did these "people" give such little notice of this huge change? Would it have hurt paypal to give the little guy more motice? No! Paypal hurt me by not giving me proper notice. please know (in my opinion )paypal may do something like this to you without (in my opinion) proper notice. My lawyer wants me to find other people who have been hurt by these (in my opinion) thoughtless careless actions of paypal so if you have please contact me

Do as I have done put a text box on your page stating that you DO NOT ACCEPT PAYPAL FOR THE CUSTOMERS SAFETY AS WELL AS YOUR OWN and suggest alternate ways such as western union, cashiers checks etc. Since I started this I haven't had any charge backs and my customers are happier.
Good luck in your new venture. If you decide to close your paypal account tell them I was the one who suggested it.
