I Had a situation where I opened a paypal account about 1-2 years ago with an email address (as you do) and put on it all my credit cards...anyway I then decided that because I wasnt at that time getting many sales from the US that I wasnt going to use it any more and just forgot it existed at all. Anway just recently I decided to start selling on Ebay which meant I was likely to get some international buyers so decided to get Paypal back again........(HERE IS WHERE THE NIGHTMARE BEGINS)

I tried to login to create a new account but couldnt as my credit card numbers were logged under another account so I tried to log in to my old account but couldnt remember the password and my old email address no longer existed so I decided to write to paypal via email and asked them to cancel my old account and gave them every bit of information about myself and explained my situation.

I got an email back telling me to click on the link "forgot my password" but this was not going to work as my old email address no longer existed...

I wrote back again explaining my situation again guess what I got an email telling me to click on the "forgot my password" link....

I started getting quite frustrated by this stage and wrote my whole situation again and again asked them to cancel the old account as it was obvious it hadnt been touched in about 18 months....

I got an email back telling me to ring them in the US...now I am in Australia and Im not going to waste a call to the US....so I emailed them again...

I got an email back saying my old account was cancelled so I tried again my credit card numbers wouldnt work....so you guessed it I emailed again.....

I got an email telling me to click on the "forgot password link" by this time I was going to scream I thought I would give it one more go and it worked I was able to start a new account.

Now what would happen the next time I have a problem with real money this one had no money involved I am an International customer I dont like being treated like Im from another Planet.

I will give Paypal one thing though they are very good at responding to each email even if they havent read the content of the email.

the emails you are getting from paypal could be automated replies,no human has been reading your email.
there is a guy from paypal called paypaldamon,he should be able to help you.
read past posts to see if he has an email addr for you to email.
does paypal have a procedure for someone who has changed his email address,it is quite common as many of us change internet service provider??

Hi,

Please feel free to send me the account information to [email protected]. I will have customer service assist with the issues you are having in accessing the account.

Yes, we do have a procedure in place for users that have changed their ISP/email address.

When Damon gets your account straightened out, you might want to consider establishling a web-based e-mail address for doing business on the internet and registering that e-mail with PP.
Yahoo, among others, has free web-based e-mail and, as a user of Yahoo for 4 years now, I've found it to be quite stable.
You can forward important mail to your ISP e-mail from your Yahoo account when necessary or just print out a hard copy of the e-mail.
You can also check your e-mail accounts, both at Yahoo and at your ISP, from anywhere in the world that has access to the Net through your Yahoo account.

I've changed ISP's a half dozen times since '96 but my e-mail address has remained the same...

Just a thought....
