Recently I lost my PayPal debit card and replaced it. At no time in the process did they explain to me that I had to re-register as a preferred customer. For the last $500 or so of charges I have not received my 1.5% credit. I realize that they have only ripped me off for about $25 but it gives me great pause that I am sending thousands of dollars per month to a company that uses such deceptive practices. I have tried to fix this with them but I have made no progress.
Personally I think that it is time to revisit Ebay's Billpoint program especially now that they have upgraded the check-out process. Paypal is about to go public but there seems to be no understanding that when they loose Ebay power sellers, all those customers go with them.

i just start using my debit card and i always check to see if a 1.5 % cash back has been credited to my paypal account.
thanks for the info,i hope paypal will credit your cashback from your use of the debit card.
it appears from all the complaints on this board and my personal experience ,paypal is very disorganised as a business organisation and its system has more potholes than brooklyn.
but then i have been spending days with bank of america, they are so big and diverse, most workers only know thier little world,i was transfered from one dept to another dept from city to city, talk about doing business with a mammoth old mother.

The card was used as a debit (non-pin) card but the cashback was denied on the basis that I failed to rerister. I am again in touch with your office to try to resolve this.

I can't comment on whether or not the preferred customer status is removed automatically or by accident, but your math is way off.
