I have used PayPal for about a year and I have had no problems whatsoever. I have not used PayPal for Credit Card payments. I am pleased with the speed of the service and rarely have to wait on a check or money order. I was disappointed when PayPal begain deducting a fee from my Ebay sales, but I don't see how all these services can stay in business without charging some fees.
One thing I have noted is that certain auction categories of auctions are more prone to have dishonest and questionable dealers, especially high volume electronics dealers, and in all humble respect, gentlemen, I have found that the female dealers seem to have higher feedback ratings than men, who can be downright nasty in some of their emails and feedback. I just changed the subject in the midstream here, but let's all do our very best to be completely honest and reliable in our dealings and keep up good communications.

I'm curious how you can tell on the internet whether someone is male or female, marypsalms?
Certainly agree with you about certain categories of items being more prone to difficult transactions, but I'd lodge that at the door of youth than sex - or both maybe. Young males buying video games, paintball guns, sexy books, etc are surely more likely (IMO) to be a problem both as sellers and particularly as buyers than those of Japanese kimonos. Not that there aren't crooks and creeps in every category, but in all likelyhood, you'll have more trouble online in some areas. As a seller I think it's a good idea to steer clear of selling things to punks.
