Our business has been using PayPal for over two years now. We earn the hundreds of dollars a month. This morning, we found that PayPal restricted our account, asking for bills, ID, etc etc.
No warning, nothing. They reversed $3,000 of withdrawals which are now frozen in our account.
This is simply improper business practice. I have no problem with them asking for ID, bills, etc since banks do this as well, BUT THEY NEED TO DO THIS IN ADVANCE AND NOT FREEZE PEOPLE'S MONEY WITHOUT WARNING.
We are seriously considering joining the class action suit. This is not a $20, $30 issue. This is a significant amount.
Please post suggestions on what we can do. We have already submitted the information to PayPal, but would be willing to join any suit that comes up if this issue does not get resolved quickly.

I am going to post all the correspondence I get from PayPal on this thread.
We got this 2 hours after they froze our account. For the record, we DO have a bank account registered with them. In fact, when we call the 800 number, they ask us the bank name to verify us, so obviously they know this too.
We are beginning to think that they just mindlessly send out emails.
Thank you for inquiring about the restriction on your PayPal Account. The
restriction on your account can only be lifted if a bank account is added
and confirmed on the account. Please login to your PayPal Account using

My account was just unrestricted. (Thanks Paypal) It took almost a month but my case was complicated.
1. The best thing to do is provide everything they ask for.
2. You need to provide proof that you shipped the goods to the confirmed address.
3. Call customer service and find out why they restricted your account and if they plan to unrestrict your account and how long it will take.
4. Write paypaldamon, he usually gets things resolved in record time.
5. If your account problem isn't solved in two weeks or they indicate that you may never get access to the money in your account then you will have to start the same process I started about a month ago which is file complaints. I hope that you don't have to do this and I would suggest that the best thing you can do is work with Paypal until they will no longer work with you.
6. If you do these things and succeed then you will get an email like this:
Just wanted to post this follow up.
"Dear Fred Newbrough,
We have completed our review and have removed
the restriction on your account. Thank you for
your patience during this process and for helping
to make PayPal the safest and most trusted online
payment solution.

There is only one advice I can give you: file a complaint with BBB-on line and hope for the best. You can find a direct link to BBB complaint form at www.quitpaypal.com. It seemed to have worked for me, it might just help you as well.

Good luck getting the BBB to respond. I submitted a complaint about PayPal over 2 months ago and still haven't received a response. They're just as bad as PayPal. I wonder if their office is in PayPal's headquarters?
