Hi,

Craig (Complaint Resolution Department) told me once I received the ebay insurance cheque, I can fax the cheque and the ebay letter to Paypal (1-402-935-2258) to claim the $200 insurance. Ebay told me they will directly deposit the money to my bank account. I want to know can I fax the emails from ebay indicating the judgement in my favor and the bank account record statement to claim the Paypal insurance. I email you once last week but never get any respond. Please reply as soon as possible.

Thanks,
Jacky ([email protected])

PS: Please give me your email so that I can email you. Thanks!

Hi maple125,

You are not eligible for the supplemental insurance because you filed a chargeback with the credit card company for the transaction. You have received the money back on your credit card. I have advised you as such on these boards. You would be receiving additional credit for a transaction that you have already been refunded on (by your credit card company).

Damon, maybe I'm missing something, but according to the website posted at the bottom of this user's message, $349.37US was paid to the seller (who didn't send the goods) via PayPal funds, which obviously can not be charged back. If E-bay's insurance covered 175 of it (the maximum of 200 - 25 deductible) shouldn't you still cover this person for 174.37, the remaining portion (lost by the user) of the part of the PayPal funds that were used to fund this transaction? Or do you have a policy where if the user charges back any of the amount of a transaction, they are not covered by your additional EBay insurance?

Hi Paypaldamon,

Craig (Complaint Resolution Department) has told me Paypal will cover me an additional $200US. I paid $900US to that seller, $550.63US by my credit card and $349.37US from my Paypal account. I am eligible to claim the Paypal insurance, as Craig told me. I know you are kind of busy helping people here, therefore you don't have time to check my website (http://www.geocities.com/do_not_use_paypal/). This is the third time I told you this. Please just verify the fax number (1-402-935-2258) so that I can fax the document to Paypal. Also, can I use the email from ebay and my bank record to claim the Paypal insurance. If not, what should I do?

Thanks,
Jacky

PS: I email this question from Paypal.com a week ago and still waiting for their reply. Are you (Paypal) going to ignore it?

Maple,

I finally found something that might help you. I had deleted the emails with the phone numbers but I found the hard copies. A couple of months ago, I needed a fax number to file my insurance claim with Paypal. When first contacted, Damon gave me 402-935-2240. It took a couple of months to get the check from Ebay. I faxed the docs to that number and then asked Damon to verify it had been received. He then contacted me and asked me to send it to 402-537-5760. I was told to put "Attention: ComRes-Ebay Claim" on it. I gave them a copy of the check from Ebay, a copy of the email from Ebay saying they were sending the money, a copy of the email from Paypal saying they had decided their claim in my favor but the seller did not have any money in their account, and a copy of the transaction as it appeared in my transaction history on Paypal. They contacted me within about 24 hours and I had the money within about 4 days. Tammy

Hi maple125,

The information I passed to you came about because of my interaction with Craig. Let me see if I am missing something, or if the information they have is not correct.

HI maple125,

You should have received an email this morning with instructions. My apologies, as it appears that no notice was given to the fact that the chargeback was not for the full amount when the claim was reviewed.

Hi Paypaldamon,

Thanks for your help. One more question:
Ebay email me they will deposit the insurance money of $175US ($200US - $25US)
directly to my bank account, therefore I will not have a paper cheque from ebay. Can I use my bank record and email from ebay indicating the judgement to claim the Paypal insurance?

Thanks,
Maple125

Hi maple125,

You would need to get the following documents to process the supplemental insurance.I would see if they can provide the information in the letter (about sending the funds to your bank, not a check).

PayPal will provide you with up to an additional $200 when you provide documentation that you have won a case through Ebay. All we need to a copy of your Ebay check and a copy of the Ebay letter indicating judgment in your favor. Fax this information to 1-402-537-5760. Please put the fax to the attention of "Complaint Resolution- Ebay Claim". Please include your primary PayPal email address, your name and the date, dollar amount and email address of the payment you made to the seller.

When Ebay kept me waiting, the only email they responded to was [email protected]. Even that took a couple of days. The rep who signed my claim then contacted me and told me when to expect the check and that is when I got it. I did also file a claim with the BBB. I am not sure which one caused the response. Hi Tammy,

The ebay representative told me I will receive my cheque within February and then told me the cheque will come on the first, second, third and fourth week of March. Today is April 7, 2002 and I still have not receive the cheque. I really hope ebay can speed up how they handle the insurance claim.

Thanks,

I have received the ebay insurance cheque today. I will fax the cheque and the email from ebay to 1-402-537-5760 later. Please confirm when you receive the require document and the cheque.

Hi Paypaldamon,

My Paypal account has been credited by the amount of $159.75US and it is from the name "Paypal balance adjustment". I email Paypal few days ago and asked them if this is the Paypal insurance and they have not reply yet. I think the insurance should be $174.37US since I used my $349.37US from Paypal balance to the seller and ebay sent me an insurance cheque for $175US.

Thanks,
Jacky
