Just a note to let everyone know about a problem at Geico.... I have been a customer for a few years and have never had to file a claim. I just fork over cash and they eat it up.

Last year I was having them decuct money from my bank account monthly. This worked well until about a year ago. In October of 2001 they took my money as normal. A few weeks later they take it again (they also bounced a few checks on me because of their mistake..)

After two weeks of fighting with them they admitted they did not credit my account the first time and gave me back the cash they stole from me. I stopped paying through their site and began using my Paypal card to pay each month.

A few months ago Geico tells me they will not accept debit or credit cards as payment anymore, so I begin using Paypal Bill pay.

All goes well until now.

I paid my Geico Premium via Billpay this month and guess what? Geico claims they don't have it! It cleared from my account days ago. The status on Paypal shows paid. I am sure it was paid. All other bills I paid that day say complete and the companies show the payments... all but Geico. They tell me I am in danger of being cancelled if I don't either pay again or get Paypal to show proof of payment...

I am going to get rid of Geico and try to find an insurance company that will actually give me credit for my payments... Just a warning for all. Be careful with those sharks at Geico, they are either crooks or idiots. Not sure which...

check paypal as well,i use paypal debit card to buy fans at expo.home depot and they refunded 100 dollars to my paypal account,it never arrive.
i think the debit card does not act the same way as the credit card.
in your case, think of it this way, paypal is not a bank,so it has an account with a bank and it keeps internal record that you are one of many who has account with paypal.
paypal sends money to geico on your behalf,if for some reason it did not go thru ,and was returned back to paypal,it is up to paypal to sort out where this money should go,it should go to your paypal account.
see the layers involved-when it did not go thru,it is returned to the bank, bank will have to return the fund to paypal account, then paypal has to return to your account within paypal.
figure paypal is not the only account asking the bank to send payments, figure you are not the only paypal member who has requested paypal to send payment for you on that particular day.
i would not use paypal to make payments on bills such as utility, cable, insurance payments ,tax, student loan.
i also avoid using paypal in small shops and restaurants/

It was Geico's mistake (again). This morning they suddenly "found" my paymnet... I am done with Geico. If I can't get them to bill me correctly, how can I trust them with a claim?

i am glad.i always hear geico customers singing praises of its service.
i had a neighbor who has the same name as his son and they live together and they are able to get a multi car discount from geico as they make geico believes it is one person/2 cars.

About six months ago, I was shopping around (online) for auto insurance. I got numerous quotes (I don't believe that Geico was one). Last month, I received a PAST DUE notice from a COLLECTION AGENCY for $13.84. I called to find out what was up with this. I was asked if I ever received a quote for insurance with ...you guessed it... Geico!! So, I summize from this that Geico is charging for their quotes!!...and then bypassing the normal billing procedures, sends the bill directly to a COLLECTION AGENCY!! (I bet they make lots of money this way.) At this point, I advised the person I was speaking with that I disputed the validity of that debt and requested verification. I have received nothing...so far. So, people...BEWARE!!

I pay $0.00 for Car Insurance

Unlike a certain un-named GOP Pretzel-Choking, Coke-Sniffing, Drunk-Driving politician, I refuse to endanger others while under the influence

In my case (unlike the Babbling Boob Dumbo Dubya) it is massive doses of narcotic pain killers. So, rather than endanger others (and since I care about the HEALTH & WELFARE of others) I hung-up the old keys to my Vega!

I've heard a lot of Geico nightmare stories. My son has Safe Auto. They're no better. One day late on your payment, they cancel you and then charge a large reinstatement fee. Cheap? My backside! We have Progressive and aren't any happier with them. Our car was in an accident a couple of years ago (the other driver's fault for driving on the wrong side of the road). The tow truck driver, knowing the car at this point had NO brakes, let the thing slide down the flat bed on it's own. It went across the street and through our neighbor's garage door. (LOL - now) They (Progressive) refused to pay for the garage door stating the trucking company's insurance needed to pay. The trucking company's insurance company also refused to pay. Who paid? We did! So much for insurance.

Our car went through the garage door. Our neighbors rent the house and we didn't want them to have trouble with their landlord, which they eventually had after accidentally burning the house down three months later. The garage door, however, looked great. Since my fiance is a contractor, he and a friend did the door so cost was actually minimal. Looking back on it, I can chuckle. However, in that week we: got hit by a hit and run driver, had a gutter full of ice fall onto a neighbor's new Mustang AND our house was broken in to (that was all in one day - day after Thanksgiving). OUR homeowners insurance was busy even if the auto insurance was not! We will look into the insurance you recommended. It's time for a change!

Just a quick note - anyone in the pacific northwest....WHATEVER YOU DO, STAY AWAY FROM PEMCO INSURANCE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

They are incompetent˛ and then some! Let's just say I've been with them for 20 years with NOTHING on my driving record, and PERFECT CREDIT, so they already made tons of $$$ off me. Some wackjob with different insurance rear-ends me at a stoplight, and the police decide it's 100% his fault. PEMCO REFUSES TO HELP THEIR CUSTOMERS WHATSOEVER, EVEN THOUGH THEY WOULD NOT LOOSE A CENT BY DOING IT!!!!!!

THESE GUYS ARE SIMPLY OUTRAGEOUS! THE OUTRIGHT TELL YOU THAT YOUR DOCTOR IS A LIAR, PRACTICALLY.

Ok, the moral of the story... PEMCO=BAD

(c.y.a. statement: this is based on a factual claim, and all events have been factually described, therefore this is not a slanderous comment. There is documented evidence to back this statement up.)
