On a new computer with Vista should i copy sales Manager computer to computer , or should i load a frash version from Vendio ???
You should load a fresh version from Vendio. To backup your Sales Manager Pro files, please save the following folders:
- From the data folder, the inv.dat file, which contains inventory information.
- From the batches folder, all batch files (*.awb)
- From the images folder, all image files (*.jpg, *.jpeg, *.png). Note, this step is not mandatory if the images exist online: if these are not backed up, images will be downloaded from the Vendio site during the first synchronization made with the new, or recovered, Sales Manager Pro installation
All other data files are rebuilt during the first synchronization.
We have heard from several Windows Vista users who are reporting problems using Sales Manager Pro on the Vista platform. We are in the process of determining how to ensure that Sales Manager Pro will work on Vista with various system configurations, and have found that it will work on Vista Business running on a 32 bit processor after following these two sets of instructions:
1. If the program is already installed, try running it with administrator rights (to do this, right click on the desktop icon that you would use to launch the program, and select to run as Administrator.)
2. If you have not yet installed the program, or if you've uninstalled the original installation, install SM Pro from a Vista Administrator account. Do not choose to run the application from install (uncheck both checkboxes in the last screen during installation.) After installing, run the program from the desktop icon. Provide the Vendio account information. Synchronize, then close and reopen the application.
If you have taken these steps and continue to have trouble, please let us know if you are on a 32 or 64 bit system and whether your Vista version was installed over an earlier Windows version or if your system came with it pre-installed. We are in the process of determining the possible system configurations that are causing problems with SM Pro, and taking appropriate steps to eliminate the problems.
