I just looked in my closed auctions and I found that I had 9 double listings. Since eBay does not show when items were listed anymore (or their duration), I am going to assume they were 7 day listings, launched on July 27th. (If they were 5 day listings, then they were launched on July 29th)

All of the listing numbers are different (not ghost doubles) and are each from within 2 to 50 ebay numbers apart- so the doubles were listed twice within seconds of each other.

Weirder yet- when I was in 'closed auctions' looking at these auctions, I noticed that the hit counters for each double were at the exact same count (odd); I opened one of the double listings showing it on ebay....closed that window...refreshed my Vendio 'closed' view and voila...BOTH of that double listings hit counts went up by one number, though I only viewed one of that listings.

Luckily I only sold one auction twice and may be able to replace it.

If you look at my 'closed' listings you will see these right away...they start with item # 230157424723

...what is going on!???

Hello,

Duplicate listings may result from the following conditions:

1. During the create listing process in Sales Manager, you may have accidentally double-clicked on the "launch" button, or used "stop" and "refresh" if there was a delay.

2. You may have attempted to list a large volume from Inventory, resulting in a page timeout. The browser error may have instructed you to reload the page, which can result in duplicate listings if you do not check Sales Manager to see if any listings were created before the timeout occurred.

Please let us know if you continue to have trouble with this for future new listings.

Regards,
Nathan

Nathan, I think there may be another issue...oh my god- I am finding active doubles all over my listings...

Then please explain why the hit count on each of the double stays the same for each when I open one auction and view it but not the other???

Hello,

Please let us know exactly what steps you are taking to launch your listings.

These were relists and I am assuming from the same evening as most seem to be ending within the next 1-2 days. I noticed it b/c I stared seeing doubles in my closed auctions.

Relists are done from 'closed'....selecting the unsold ones for relist then launching.

I very rarely go through my active auctions so I did not notice the doubles.

Hello,

Do you generally relist these items in bulk, or one at a time? Also, does it seem that this all happened (all of the duplicate listings) at one time, or at different times? What happens when you relist an item now? Are you still getting duplicates for new relists?

Regards,
Nathan

Now I am finding out from my husband that Vendio was giving us some problems last week during relisting- timing out, etc. so this may be related to that. Though, the hit count thing is quite weird and should not happen if they are two separate auctions.

This could cost of quite a bit in listing fees and now time lost. I guess the lesson learned will be:

When Vendio is acting screwy, give up, get up and go do something else. This will never happen again.

Sorry Nathan- I keep missing you post b/f I post again....

We bulk relist I guess...anywhere from 10 to 50 at a time.

This all seems to have happened around the same time as they all seem to be ending in about 1.5 days and some ended yesterday.

We have not relisted any of those auctions yet (too busy going through and closing double auctions!)

Hello,

The way the counter is acting would be consistent with refreshing/reloading during the relist process. Since the duplicate listings were relisted from the same item, the counter would be identical on both listings (and a click on one listing would register on both listings).

I am not able to provide any credits here, however it is possible that our billing department may be able to do something for you (I cannot make any promises). Please send an email to [email protected] with a brief description of the problem. Please reference this message thread (a copy of the URL should work). Also, please provide an estimate of about how many listings had this problem.

Regards,
Nathan

Thanks Nathan,

We have been going through them now and closing the doubles and then archiving them. In Archive, they will all have the same date so we can easily see which ones were the doubles. I will email Vendio billing and see what they can do, but need to email ebay to see if there is any way to get credit for these there on there, as that is where the higher expense will be.
