Logging into Vendio just now, there was a message in red asking me to verify my eBay ID (or such). I signed in to eBay, but going back to Vendio the red message had disappeared. Have I done what I should? (I was counting on seeing the message again with the instructions, but no.)

I did as required and message disappeared. However, just to check, I signed out, then signed in, and the message reappeared. What's going on here?

Hello,

We did just recently upgrade our API connection with eBay, and this could be related. The engineers are checking into it asap and we'll report back with any news as its available.

If you have items scheduled to post and the message still appears, go ahead and update your token just prior to their scheduled time to be sure they list without error.

Christopher

Hello,

When you now update your token, how long does it seem to be 'sticking' before the message appears again?

It seems as though the last few users I worked with were able to continue listing after the most recent update of said token, at least for now (we may not have waited long enough to see if the message came back.)

Christopher

thefirstclass - your issue is different from the others. eBay has an alert they want you to address before you can list again. When you go to update your token you will see this message, as well as if you were to try and list something directly at eBay from your current account.

As for your 'imagereload' account, are you running into the same error there when you try to update your token? Check eBay to be sure they don't have the same alert on this account as the other.

----------------
I don't have a issue with ebay.

I got it to work after I list a listing when I received the error "Access Failed. It appears that the eBay userid stored on this Vendio account is invalid or suspended. We have temporarily suspended eBay access for this account. Access will automatically resume one hour after the time of this error."

I waited one hour an error is gone.

Christopher: Please explain what "update your token" means, exactly! The jargon some of you moderators use doesn't translate when we go to our account. Thanks.

Hello Roadsmith,

A token is what you get when you update your ebay ID. eBay doesn't actually store your username and password on third party sites anymore, they use authorization tokens.

Updating your 'token' means simply updating your eBay ID via that red message at the top of the Sales Manager page, if your receiving one.

Christopher

Okay, I've signed in successfully on eBay. Does that count? Or do I need to go in, erase what eBay has, and write it *again* there?

Hello,

IF you see a message in red letters at the top of your Sales Manager page that says warning, unable to fetch..... - then click the link in blue at the end that says 'My Account - Auction Site Accounts.'

From here, you will see your eBay ID. Click the 'edit' link across from it, just to the right.

Next, click the 'Go To eBay Signin' button.

When you get to the sign in page at eBay, sign in.

Next, click the 'Agree and continue' button that you are prompted with.

Now you should be finished, unless the message reappears.

Regards,
Christopher

I should note, if you do NOT see this message at the top of your Sales Manager page, you don't have to do anything.

roadsmith - just logging in from the eBay.com homepage won't address the error with the token, if your seeing one. Follow the directions above instead.

Christopher

Hello roadsmith,

If that is how often it is happening in your account, then yes, for now, or at least until whatever is broken is repaired.

We'll certainly post more information about it once we have it, right now no errors have been found, just the token expiration notices coming back from eBay on some accounts.

still digging, we'll let you know what we find.

Christopher

Hello,

Please let us know if you notice this come up again. Still tracking down possible causes, but unless you see the notice again it should be ok.

So, for now, I guess it was just these little guys:

We'll keep hunting for a specific cause to be sure it doesn't come up again. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Christopher: Thanks for the detailed instructions; things seem to be working now. I have to say, if those instructions had been posted in those red letter warnings about our "tokens," I for one would have done it immediately. Please tell those in power that we aren't all familiar with the jargon you folks use on a regular basis. Some of us (not all, I'm sure) need things to be spelled out. Since the word "token" isn't anywhere in my account preferences etc., it stymied me.
