Hi: Is there a tutorial you can point me to, showing exactly how to use the contact list option under "customers" in Sales Manager? I've been trying to work it but just hit a wall.

And, a question: If I copy certain customers into a special contact list, will that delete them from the big customer list I have? I don't want that to happen.

Thanks in advance!

Hello Eileen,

Well, there is a general tutorial found here: http://www.vendio.com/tours/cm/index.html

By copying customers into your contact list that will not delete them from the larger list, you can copy the same contact into multiple lists.

I hope this helps. Please let us know if you have other questions or concerns.

Regards,

Ed

Ed: Here's the problem now. I have made a contact list, labeled "celebrity Christmas cards." I have some customers in that list. But I cannot seem to access that list. I click on it, and nothing happens.

I've gone into the tutorial, but the screen shots shown are nearly impossible to read, so I'm giving up on learning more from that area. Someone just tell me how to access the list I've already created, please.

Hello,

At this point you have set your default contact list to "celebrity Christmas cards". So all of your contacts are in this list. You can view the list by going to "Sales Manager" --> "Customers". Since you only have one list, it is automatically highlighted and all of the contacts appear in the list below. You can make a new list by clicking "Edit Contact Lists" and then "Add New". I hope this helps.

Nathan

Nathan: Could you please take a look at my customers page? What I *meant* to have, dinking around with this, was a master list of all my customers, and a sub-list of "celebrity card" customers. Did I do it wrong? I still have the big list, but when I click on the sub-list, nothing comes up. If someone could just tell me the secret. . . .

Hello,

I checked your account and currently all of your emails are in the one list "celebrity Christmas cards". You can create a new list (which can be your master list) by clicking "Edit Contact Lists" and then "Add New". Then copy all email addresses to the new list by selecting "Select All" (at the top right of your email list) and then under the "Action Panel" select to "Copy" the "selected customers" to the new list.

Regards,
Nathan

Thanks, Nathan. Holy cow, what a complicated system! My last question: I now have two duplicate lists, with all my customers in both lists. How can I *simply* delete one of the lists?!

Hello,

To delete one of the lists go to "Sales Manager" --> "Customers" --> "Edit Contact Lists" --> put a check mark in the box to the right of the list --> click the "Delete Selected" button.

Regards,
Nathan
