I have WindowsVista. I have to log into Vendio almost every time I want to go there. It's the ONLY SITE that doesn't seem to "hold" my log-in. I click on the 7-day option but it makes no difference at all.

Since I'm back and forth on various sites all day long, at some point the "history" drop-down loses Vendio because there are other sites in the queue, so to speak.

I've tried logging in with a new window by right clicking, but that doesn't hold either.

Is there a fix for this problem? I keep thinking it's a Vendio thing, because all the other sites "remember" me all day.

Edited to add: Nathan suggested back in July that I make sure Vendio is one of the exceptions I allow in the privacy area. I've done that.

Because Vendio is the only site I have this problem with, I can't help but think it's involved in some arcane way!

Hello,

Are you using Mozilla Firefox? Also, are you using a Vendio bookmark or typing the address into your browser? If you are using a bookmark, try typing http://www.vendio.com into your browser instead, and let us know if that makes any difference.

Also, in Firefox, go to "Tools" --> "Options" --> make sure that "Accept cookies from sites" is checked --> also make sure that "They expire" is selected next to "Keep until". If you ever choose the option to "Clear Private Data", be sure that "Cookies" is unchecked. Also be sure that the option "Always clear my private date when I close Firefox" is *not* checked, and the option "Always ask me before clearing private date" *is* checked.

Please let us know if this makes any difference.

Regards,
Nathan

Hi, Nathan: Yes, I have Firefox, 2.0.0.9, recently updated. About how I'm getting to Vendio, I have it in my taskbar (or whatever you call the thing near the top), along with 10 other sites (eBay, USPS, etc). I tried typing it into the window instead, but it seemed to make no difference.

I went to Firefox Tools/Options etc. as you suggested. I double-checked all those things - again, for the 5th time - They're always there, done as you suggest.

Vendio will "hold" for me until I have more than about 9 items in my drop-down "history" site, then it's gone, and nowhere to be found on the screen--so I have to click on "Vendio" and re-login.

Hello,

What is the URL of the bookmark your using when you have to click on Vendio and log in again?

Perhaps you have the login page itself bookmarked, in which case you could re-save the bookmark (on your toolbar) to point to your Sales Manager page directly instead - so if the browser still has the login cookie stored it could then bypass the login page. Its quite possible that if you have the login page itself stored as the bookmark, thats why it seems to only forget you when you can't still locate it in your browser history and are forced to use your bookmark on the toolbar instead.

You can get the URL of the bookmark on your toolbar by using the right click on your mouse to click on it, then left click on the properties menu.

Regards,
Christopher

Whee! Christopher, you're a wonder. That was the problem, I believe. I deleted my bookmarked login Vendio page and substituted the control panel page for it, and I'm getting it now without problems. Let's hope that continues to be the solution.

Thanks so much for your brilliant idea. ~adele
