Hi- We are having problems with the combined shipping when we have a Dutch Buy it Now auction. Example- 120203319234 -Shipping was WAY High- Also- we would like to offer a discounted/Actual rate for some items that obviously can be shipped in the same box- Can we specify a Global Combined Shipping Discount and can we opt out an auction/item that would not qualify?
Thanks
I checked this listing and the shipping does seem to be correct for your account settings. This listing was set with the following:
Weight: 2pounds
Dimensions: 18 X 13 X 8
Ship from zip code: 44035
Ship to zip code: 98367
Shipping markup: $2.00
Also, your Global Preferences are set to:
Calculate combined shipping based on: Total weight of all items (e.g., to ship in one package).
Calculate combined markup as: Sum of markups for all items.
There are five items in this order, so USPS is using the following information for the quote:
Weight: 10pounds
Dimensions: 18 X 13 X 40
Ship from zip code: 44035
Ship to zip code: 98367
This comes out to $72.70. Add the $2.00 markup and the total is $74.70 (which is what your customer was charged).
The setting for whether combined items are shipped in the same box is a global setting, and cannot be changed on a listing-by-listing basis. At this point your account is set to charge shipping in this way, but please keep in mind that if you are calculating shipping in this way, then your package dimensions are going to be higher for the combined items. This can sometimes make the shipping more expensive if it is combined in one box, then if the items are shipped separately in smaller boxes.
