I have a problem where the shipping calculator is giving east coast buyers a $30+ shipping fee on a 3 pound item that should be no more than $13.00. I ended the auction 170227733151. Please check it out and let me know if this is also an issue on other auctions.
Thank you.

YIKES, it is doing this on all auctions. No wonder there are no bids. Please check out auction 310058102239 and input 20117 zip code in the calculator, it gives $31.25 on a 2 pound item.

Hello,

I checked your listing "310058102239" and I am showing that it is set up as follows:

Ship-from zip code: 92260
Package weight: 2 pounds
Package dimensions: 36 X 8 X 8

I entered this information, as well as the 20117 ship-to zip code into the USPS website and it returned $30.25 as the shipping cost for Priority. With your $1.00 shipping markup this totals the $31.25 that is being shown in the Vendio shipping calculator.

Note that it is likely your package dimensions that are making the cost higher than you expected.

Regards,
Nathan

The dimensions should not affect the price with USPS at a 2 lb rate. Never have in the past. Please check closed auction 170227733151. It was doing the same thing and did not have oversize dimensions.

Hello,

Listing 170227733151 was set with dimensions of 12 X 12 X 8, which are different from listing 310058102239. Listing 310058102239 was set with dimensions of 36 X 8 X 8, which USPS considers a large package and is charged at a higher rate (as can be seen when entering this information into the USPS website).

Regards,
Nathan

I realize that. What I am saying is that that listing was also coming up with the 30+ shipping cost.
If you go to listing 170227733151 and input 20117 in the shipping calculator you will see what I am talking about. It comes up as 30+ and it is not oversize.

Hello,

The package dimensions of 36 X 8 X 8 are considered oversize by USPS. If you enter this information directly into the USPS website it will give you the same shipping cost (minus your $1.00 markup) that is showing in the Vendio shipping calculator.

Regards,
Nathan

Hello,

I apologize for the confusion. I see now that your most recent post was referring to listing "170227733151" (not listing "310058102239" ). Listing "170227733151" was actually listed with the dimensions of 14 X 12 X 12 (the pending relist has since been edited with the dimensions of 12 X 8 X 8). The 14 X 12 X 12 dimensions are also considered oversize by USPS (as it is more than 1 cubic foot). The currently pending (scheduled) relist of listing "170227733151" will not have this problem, as the dimensions that are in the relist are less than 1 cubic foot.

Regards,
Nathan
