I see some discussion about this among users, but I'm more interested in a discussion with Vendio staff: does this new item page design eliminate the ability to use third-party services such as Vendio, or are you in talks with eBay as to how to combine your service with their new design?

This is a big deal, and for many of us it will completely change the way we've been doing business for years.

I'm hoping for two things from Vendio (a company to whom I've been loyal since before you were called Vendio):

1. What you know already about this and

2. Timely updates as things progress, without us having to ask.

You guys are our eyes and ears behind the scenes, and while I realize you may have some disclosure constraints as authorized third-party vendors for eBay, I believe you owe us as much as you can give us so that we aren't caught up short.

If we have to migrate back to eBay's listing system, then we have to, but we don't want to wake up one morning and have to start scrambling and learning new methods while still trying to make a living.

Have you been given the opportunity to design and test into the new eBay pages? Are they talking to you about it?

Please advise.

There are also threads on Ebay discussion boards about eBay eliminating third party checkout.

Just like sunnyjo, I would like Vendio's input on the accuracy or, (hopefully!) inaccuracy, of this, as well as how the new item page affects both sellers and Vendio.

I am hoping we not about to be forced to do all our operational procedures through eBay.
The thought of a new learning curve alone is scary. But an eBay learning curve....that sounds like a nightmare!

Susan

Hello,

We will provide our input about this as soon as we have had a chance to evaluate the eBay changes.

Nathan

Nathan,
It doesn't sound very reassuring "as soon we had a chance to evaluate".

Even if eBay still allows third party services, they are introducing tons of changes to the layout, width of the page, html, blocking Java, flash, etc. They will require return policy, handling time, etc, etc.

Not to be pessimistic, but judging previous Vendio performance, it will be a while before Vendio get it done.

And the worst of all is that Vendio is not allowing to globally update existing inventory items. This is just crazy to ask us to individually change each item.

Let's give the Vendio staff some time to review the changes announced by ebay.

The problem we all have is that ebay has most likely not fully thought out the changes themselves. Look how difficult it is for us to get clarification on issues, I bet the same holds true for the Vendio staff.

No reflection on Vendio. Sometimes I really wonder about ebay. This is a helluva way to run a business -

Hello,

We are just about ready to roll out the changes we need to make (to comply with the new item listing page) already, and will be posting an announcement tomorrow with the complete details.

Regards,
Chris

Chris, please be sure to indicate where those changes may impact the Vendio store listings. Many of us, use the same template for ebay and the Vendio store.

Hi -- I don't want to get on anyone's nerves, but when you are able to provide input about this topic, can you either post it to all the new threads that seem to be popping up about this (I was kind of hoping everyone would post to a single thread) ...

OR start one of your own that should probably be locked at the top of all the sub-categories of Vendio Services and the eBay board, just so we all know what's going on?

I was a little surprised to see a reply to a specific question about the new process (regarding bulk revision) without seeing any input to the more general posts requesting any information you have about what will be happening.

Thanks.

Hello,

No worries, when we do make the changes to comply, an announcement will be posted.
We simply reply to these posts as they come up, essentially just saying that - watch the announcements.

When we create our own posts in the MC they show up in bright blue to stand out from the others, and typically tag them with 'Announcement' or something of the like in the subject line.

Im sure there will be a bunch of random posts anyway asking the same, but we'll try and update any that come up regardless of where they are - if nothing else to point out where that info already appears.

Regards,
Chris
