Am I the only one that thinks having a CANADA shipping option is supposed to be normal?
I have been a customer of Vendio for almost 2 years now and I have been bugging and bugging and bugging Vendio customer service for them to add a separate CANADA shipping option.
My shipping rates to Canada are higher than domestic rates and lower than standard international rates. Therefore I want to offer a separate shipping rate for my Canadian buyers.
My ideal 3 shipping rates are as follows: $3.95 Domestic, $6.95 Canada, and $9.95 International. Yet the way Vendio has their system set up I have to offer my $6.95 rate as "Other International Shipping" which confuses my buyers. Confuses them because both Canada and International buyers see both rates and then some Canada buyers will choose the $9.95 rate and get overcharged and then hurt my shipping DSR score because they then feel they were over charged, and then some international buyers (like Sweden, or Germany) choose the $6.95 option and I loose money because I'm trying to accommodate my Canada buyers.
eBay has shipping rates set up where you can choose separate shipping rates per specific country. Worldwide, Canada, Europe, etc. eBay HAS a an option to have separate shipping rates for Canada. This then only allows the shipping rates for Canada to show up to Canada buyers only, and International rates only show up for International buyers. Why can't Vendio do this?
What Vendio DOES have is a separate rate for Canada for UPS delivery only. "UPS Standard to Canada".
Come on Vendio, how hard is it to just add a USPS "First Class, Priority Mail, and Express mail option for Canada" ??
Am I alone here?
Because of this stupid work around that Vendio has told me to use for their current Canada rate (Other International Shipping) it makes my items (on international sites) show up lower in eBay's new stupid system of Best match because eBay ranks my items with the larger international shipping rate, which also makes my items rank lower in the price+shipping search as well.

systemskins, the problem you write about has been fixed. I had the same complaint as you until a few weeks ago.
Just do the following -
Worldwide - 1st Class Mail Intel.(Fixed) - $9.95
Canada - 1st Class Mail Intl. (Fixed) - 6.95
The key to this is to choose Worldwide 1st, and the list choose Canada. Works like a dream - even links to the ebay shipping functions.
Someone from customer service will be along and explain better than I have.
You can select the specific locations that go with each shipping carrier option by first selecting the inventory item to edit. Then go to the "Payment & Shipping" tab and edit the "Shipping" section. In the international section there is a link to the left of each shipping option labeled "Default=Item's Ship-To Loc". Click on that link. Then select the locations that go with that shipping option (i.e. Canada or Worldwide).
Please let us know should you have any trouble with this.

"Default=Item's Ship-To Loc"
THATS IT !!!!!
Finally, Thank you very much. Exactly what I was looking for.
Thanks Nathan, you of all people know I've been asking for this for a LONG time.
When did they add this? Can't be that long ago. and how come there were no announcements about this change? I thought Vendio made announcements to their customers when they change things with their system?

Then how do you do a South America ship rate?
If I choose N and S America it includes Canada which then would be quoted a higher rate.
Thanks Al
So if you want one rate for just Canada, and another rate for the rest of North and South America, you would set up two identical shipping carriers. For one of them you would select "N. and S. America". For the other you would just select "Canada".

Hello
So maybe I am doing something wrong, because when choose N and S America it automatically chooses Canada and Mexico and if I click off Canada it removes N and S America.
Al
Yes, if you choose "N. and S. America" it will show all of the countries for North and South America (except for the U.S.) as checked. That is why you also have to create the second shipping option that just has "Canada" checked, for the price you are charging for Canada. Is this not working correctly for you on your active listings? If so, please provide an example listing number.

Hello Nathan
Maybe I am not explaining the problem correctly. Auction 370067465733 has shipping options for Priority Worldwide, First Class for Canada and First Class for the rest of the world except N and S America. If I include N and S America it will place Canada in that same cost for shipping. I have a choice seperate cost for Canada but that removes my option to state a cost for shipping to N and S America.
Al
You would need to leave your shipping carriers as they are now, and add a third "USPS First-Class Mail International" option with "N. and S. America" selected. This will not place Canada in the same shipping cost as the rest of North and South America, as you have a separate shipping option for just Canada, at a different price.
