I had an item that sold in the last few months and I was selling a similar item. I went to relist or do a copy of the listing and it says it's "unavailable to relist". It's item #120150429298 Can you tell me why it won't let me use this past item?

Hello,

This appears to be an item from last august-november (store) and had since been relisted.

There is a more recent version of this ad you can use to list again, as item number 310060367130.

Chris

Hi, Chris:

I re-use many of the same auctions to re-list a similar item - ALL THE TIME! It's basically using a copy of the auction. Why am I not able to do it with this particular item? It is not an unsold item and I'm trying to get a free re-list. It was an item that ended with a bidder and I'm trying to re-do it since I have another one. Kapishe?

Hello,

Sorry if I missed something, but is the alternate item number not the same item as the one you were trying to relist and having trouble with?

Is it the idea that your unable to use that older one that you won't use the alternate or is the alternate item number provided not the same item that your trying to relist?

You mentioned something about trying to get a free relist, but the original item number you listed is out of the eBay database and would no longer qualify for any relisting credit.

Chris

Hi, Chris:

That was a confusing question! If you re-read the part about a free re-list, you'll see I don't care about a free re-list. I just wanted to make it clear that's not what I'm trying to do. I simply wanted to basically re-use the item number above to list a similar item. Why is it not letting me? You mentioned using another item number to use to re-list. I'm not sure if I used the one you mentioned, but I did use another one. But what I want to know is WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE between the two? They both ended with bidders, as sold items. In this scenario, I have "re-used" the same auction over and over again. It's not like when you re-launch a sold item, that it disappears and can't be used again. So why did I get the message stated above when I tried to do a copy of the above auction. If you're not "getting it", maybe someone else could take a look at the question and see it from another perspective.

Chris:

Here's another scenerio for you. I used item #120273830641 to create the ad for item #120276276085. They both sold. I can go back to item #120273830641 and do another of the same item, and I do not get that message. So why did I get it in the scenario above? I hope that helps to make it clearer.

Hello,

I just wanted to be sure that you knew you could relist from that item number I provided, as it was the same as the item number you had originally made the attempt to relist off of and ran into the error message.

Item 120150429298 was a relist of a previous item, and had itself also been relisted off of since it closed.

It had originally launched on August 10th of 2007, at 20:00:22. This listing then later closed on November 15th of 2007 at 17:05:03.

I had a chance to re-read your post, per your request:
It is not an unsold item and I'm trying to get a free re-list.
.. which was why I mentioned about not being able to get the free relist credit, but it seems that was just a typo - NBD.

Unfortunately this item had since been relisted, and the item that came from it is no longer in the database, which has thrown off this older listings ability to be copied to new listings. The item your using now is what we would usually call the 'parent' item, meaning the actual original listing and not one of the children that came from it (IE one of the sold listings that was generated from this 'parent' store item) - and the sold items are no longer in the account, where they would likely still allow a copy/relist at this time.

As mentioned in the original reply, you have another you could use instead anyway from a more recent listing of this exact same product. If you have any trouble re-listing off of the most recent version of this item, please let us know.

From the sounds of it, your primary concern was simply what happened with this one, not so much that you didn't have one to use that would provide the same outcome. Unfortunately in that regard there is no fix to make the oldest one work at this time, but it is an issue that the engineers are aware of happening to old unsold but since relisted items and do hope to eliminate this scenario in future versions of the Sales Manager. (IE how it works in Inventory Edition already)

For now, use item number 310060367130 in post sale/closed to generate your relist instead of the older incarnation of it (120150429298.)

Regards,
Chris

By chance, do you use Mozilla instead of Internet explorer?

I've had the same problem for a few months.

For a few months I can't relist/list auctions that are in my pending list or relist a closed auction. It's frustrating as I have to create new auctions all the time. ( and I pay for this lousy service)

I use Mozilla as a browser, have for a couple of years, but all of a sudden Vendio says it appears it's not compatible with them.

So I've been using explorer just with Vendio. I hate IE because of all the bugs. I don't get any of that with Mozilla

They told mne the engineers are working on it and they would get back to me. That was a few months ago....

I'm still waiting.....
