As previously announced, eBay will soon be changing the configuration of the View Item page. To help sellers avoid potential problems with their item description, template, or layout, they have provided a preview of the new View Item page. The preview link is available at the top of the current View Item page and can be utilized at this time. See screenshot:

We encourage you to use this link to preview items listed with Vendio templates. We will be testing the majority of our templates to ensure that the formatting is compatible with eBay's updated page, but we may not be able to thoroughly test all templates. If you notice any formatting problems with a template you are using, please notify us by going to Help -> Email, and be sure to specify which template you are having trouble with.

Best regards,

The Vendio Staff

My eBay page says in the upper corner

We're working to make My eBay easier to use. Try out the beta!

The -Try out the beta!- is a link to enter who knows where. Do you mean we should click it?
I do not want to get lost in another realm.

duer - you should see the "We're changing ebay..." message in the upper right corner of each of your item pages. Once you click on it though, there is no way place to get out (though back arrow gets me back to the original page and if you navigate from there, you seem to be out)

Not a template issue, but I am seeing distorted preview photos. When I scroll down to the template the photos are fine, but the preview photos I checked out are stretched / distorted.
Anyone else seeing this?

My template looks correct, but size wise it no longer fills up the screen.

There are two good size white bars / spaces on the left and right sides of my auction.

Hi wgonzales and aaronandelise,

Please post some item numbers so we can take a look. I did notice on some of the ones I previewed that there was some white space on either side of the template as well.

Thanks,

Diana

Item #300256419026 has space also. It is my understanding that this will be filled with ads and items from other sellers.

I'm not sure that you can view the New Item Page, as I thought it was limited to only me. However, if the item is viewed in the current version of Express, the views are virtually the same.

Perhaps that is why Express in being eliminated. Could Express be converted into the new View Item Page?

Some of them (the last two on this list) are not apparent at first glance until you scroll down and see the photo on the template. Then you can see that the top photo is deceptive.

Thanks,
Susan

Sheesh .. it took me a minute just to find the item number on the new page!

First of all -- thanks for being proactive about this; it's an excellent idea that we see how our templates are holding up to the change.

Second: could you take a look at 300258035276? It's one of any you could look at in the new format: I have a large green rectangle that I guess is supposed to be my eBay store gallery, but it's really just a big green rectangle with a few words on it.

Don't like it, looks dumb ... what can I do with that?

Thanks,
Kathy

Will ebay just change these pages or do we have to opt into them.
With all of the changes it has become hard to keep up with current events!

Hello. Same here. All my auction listings have distorted eBay pics at the top left. The Vendio pics at the bottom side look fine. Those top left pics are sized at 300x300 by ebay and when you hit the View Larger Image, they are sized at 250X175 and look clear and sharp. However, they are not larger but better to view before going to the bottom pics. My template looks the same though. Is this a picture size thing through ebay and Vendio or what? I liked the old My ebay look and hate the New look all together. Thanks, Mnk.

Hi all,

The top-left picture on eBay pages is actually controlled by eBay, so you'd need to contact them if the image is distorted. We're interested in any problems with the template or layout within the template, since those issues would need to be fixed on our side.

We've passed along your item numbers to our engineers to ensure that as many template-related problems as possible are resolved prior to the launch of the new view item page.

Thanks,

Diana

I think I read somewhere that the new item page will only accommodate descriptions that are 700 pixels wide. Do you know if ebay is going to resize our items or if we are going to have to do this?

PS can you resize the width of your image so we don't have to scroll to read this thread?

Hello,

Initially, eBay did say that the descriptions would be 700 pixels wide. However, they have since changed their mind and the description width will be dynamic (not a specific pixel width).

Regards,
Nathan
