Does it appear that ebay is on target for the 30 day FP Core launch on 9/16? When will the duration selection be available for us?

Hello Bill,
We are hoping to have the yet to be released 30 day FP durations available close to the eBay targeted release date, however there are no announcements yet available for an official ETA. It is however in the works as we speak.

Just saw this post and am wondering if this means that eBay may change their minds about the Sept 16 date for all the changes, including the 30-day option for FP. I just read tonight, at http://pages.ebay.com/August2008Update/BestPractices, that everything is still scheduled for 9/16. It makes no reference to the possibility of the date changing.

lottiesmemories - eBay has not relayed any information to us about any possible changes to this initially announced release date of the 16th.

Hi everyone,
I've just received word that the option should be available on the 17th, if all goes as planned. If we hit a road bump it may need to be pushed out a little, but we don't forsee any major problems.

Hi everyone. I'm here with a reminder that the new pricing structure for Fixed Price listings [http://pages.ebay.com/sell/August2008Update/Overview/], as announced by Lorrie on August 20th [http://www2.ebay.com/aw/core/200808200704212.html], goes into effect at midnight Pacific time tonight. That means that sellers will be able to start taking advantage of the new 30-day duration for Fixed Price listings for the new low Insertion Fee of 35 cents, and just 15 cents in Books, Movies & DVDs, Music, and Video Games.
Also starting at midnight, and good through the end of the year, our special holiday promotion goes into effect for Books, Movies & DVDs, Music, and Video Games: Fixed Price Insertion Fees are just 5 cents when you use Pre-filled Item Information (see details here [http://pages.ebay.com/promo/5ce

I just did a listing on ebay (not using Vendio) and the 30 days or GTC in place.
Good to know we will have it here tomorrow.

Hello,
Someone in the eBay outlook forum had posted this link, and I think its a good read for anyone thinking of moving their store listings over to FP items.
In short, items that are FP will appear at the very end of the 'ending soonest' search, no matter how close to the end of the 30 day cycle they happen to be.
Regards,
Chris

Chris thanks for posting all need to read the link.
I thought the new eBay changes and promises might be too good to be true, and sadly I was correct. I very much anticipated Sept 16th,because it sounded like a no brainer--sellers were actually getting a great new deal.
I happened on the information on the boards...list your heart away, they will rarely be seen,no ending time.
Goes to show big promises, expectation and change aren't always as we hope.
IMO this is a disaster.

I searched today and saw an ending time (in postcards at least). The items were still at the bottom of core, but in a "time ending soonest" sort, they would be at the bottom. Ones listed yesterday appeared above those listed today.
Still, Vendio, we need to be able to CHOOSE which format to offer.
Is the launch for today still on?

VD has it up and running. It works(launched perfectly) I listed one to see.
Now I will see if I can find the item on the Funderful NEW Search on the bay.
If I get lost in the maze .... someone come and find moi!

In a few instances change is good. I just launched three Christmas Seal Collections to two stamp categories on ebay. They both show in a search for Christmas Seals in the stamp category.
Since the quantiries of each item were: 10, 10, and 5 of each, the items rank on the first page, and will probably rise higher when the sale prices begin in two hours.
As I understand it, as items sell, the items will also rise higher. Neat!

I just launched three more 30 day FP items. Each item has an inventory of 5. I now have six items listed and all six are on the 1st page of search.
