There appears to be a problem with the scrolling gallery. A buyer just wrote and said that when they click on a picture, the auctions doesn't come up. I tried it on several auctions, and they are correct. Can you fix it please?

Hello Amber,

I tried a number of yours, but it seems to be working ok. Are you clicking on the image for the listing in the center of the gallery?

Note that clicking any other image will simply move it to the center, and only clicking the one in the center will open a new window with that auction within. (unless of course your browser is set to block the clicking/opening of new windows.)

Regards,
Chris

Hello Chris, no, it is not working for me, I tried clicking on the center picture. How do I know if my browser is set to not open new windows? My buyer couldn't get it to work either.

Hello,

If you are using Internet Explorer 7.0, go to "Tools" --> "Pop-up Blocker" --> if you have an option to turn the pop-up blocker on, then it is not turned on. If you have an option to turn it off, then it is turned on.

If you are not using Internet Explorer 7.0, please let us know what browser and version you are using.

Do you have the same problem when you click on the center picture twice? Also, what is one specific listing number where you have seen the problem?

Regards,
Nathan

I use FF and the galleries never work for me - pop=blocker stops them.

Hello Nathan, I am using Internet Explorer 7.0. The pop-up blocker was turned on, so I turned it off and tried to bring up the auction, but it is still not working for me.

Hello,

Do you have the same problem when you click on the center picture twice? Also, what is one specific listing number where you have seen the problem? It would also be helpful if you could try a different browser (such as Mozilla Firefox) and let us know whether or not it gives you the same problem.

Regards,
Nathan

Nathan:Clicking twice on the middle pictures doesn't help. The title of the auction is coming up on a toolbar above, and I can open it from there, but not directly from the gallery. Firefox opens fine.

Hello,

If the title of the auction is coming up on a toolbar, and you can open it from there, then that indicates there is still a pop-up blocker that is stopping the listing from opening. If you are sure you have turned off the pop-up blocker in Internet Explorer, do you have any other programs installed on your computer that would block pop-ups?

Regards,
Nathan

Nathan, I have Sympatico's security manager, but I have pop-up blocker turned off. The only things that are blocked is a "blocked ads list", but I can't see anything that says Vendio on the list. Would it be under another name?

Hello,

It would likely be listed under Vendio, but all of those programs are a little different so its hard to say for sure.

When you say that the title appears at the top of the page and you can open it from there, can you explain that further?
Does clicking on the link place the URL of the other auction into the address bar at the top of internet explorer?

Also, do you see any kind of yellow banners or anything at the top of Internet Explorer when you click on the link and it stops it from loading?

I tried playing with all of the different security features in IE7 but was unable to replicate the exact scneario you describe unfortunately. It should simply pop open a new window if the blocker is off and display a yellow warning at the top when its on.

Regards,
Chris
