Yesterday Ebay sent the WBN for a BIN auction # 3501168013 however it is still showing in the Active file. I cleared my cache, imported, refreshed and still it has not moved to Sold. Help?

Hi Greengate,

I looked into your SM panel and the item is in the closed section. As a matter of fact we also sent a WBN for the item.

Marius,
Yes it is there now, however I'm not nuts, it was not there this morning or last night and the auction still appeared in Active.

I would not have contacted you if I had not checked this carefully. I am not sure what the reason for the delay, most likely it was the Ebay problem that has been addressed and fixed.

Your response implies that I am incompetent and I don't appreciate that suggestion at all.

Since this is generally AW response to any help I request I will not use this Board for help in the again. As a business owner for over 20 years I can tell you that if you rub the customer the wrong way they don't come back with their money.

I have been a supportive customer of AW for a long time but I think you just lost my support.

Hi Greengate,

An item moves from active panel to the closed one in one of the following conditions:
- a regular (non buy-now) item closes, no matter if it was a success sale or not, or
- the item was purchased with buy now, and you have subscribed mailstep or our new Customer Manager product.

As you have noticed, eBay sends a mail to the seller every time an item closes. If you are using our above mentioned services, those mails are also received by our system. As a result, your listing will move from active to close as soon as you visit or refresh the Sales Manager page.
There is however a manual way to do this if you do not want to join mailstep or subscribe for Customer Manager product: select the item from your active panel, and hit refresh. Unfortunately, depending on the traffic, you may need to do this several times in a row, before the item moves from active to closed. Also you must know the item ID, so you can select it. Notice that refreshing all the active items (or clearing the browser's cache) will not help you.

I apologize for the misunderstanding. I responded to you very shortly, because this is a very known problem which was discussed in several threads, across many boards.

Fact.
Auction closed at 8:28pm on 02/13

Fact:
WBN went out this morning on 02/14

I will be requesting the customer advise me as to the time the WBN was emailed, if in fact it was really sent.

Maybe that "Blame the Customer" attitude was done for a reason. Maybe it was not an EBAY problem but another AW Glitch in the software?

I supported AW many times on the message board when people blamed your service for problems when it was an internet issue. But I will never do that again.

Good morning..
From an very annoyed and put off customer.

So is what your telling me I have to sign up for another AW service? Ah.... that explains it, you want more money from me.

So BIN needs to be set up directly with EBay. Okay I won't use the BIN through AW, not a problem for me.

I use AW Post Management to make the process easier not more difficult. You may have posted in other threads but I don't read every thread and remembering the little "tricks" is not user friendly.

Logic would suggest if the auction is listed in Active it would move to Post management when the item is closed regardless of the type of sale that is made.

Maybe that is something your software department should address.

I had the same problem with the closings of my "fixed price" items.. you weren't going buts! I think I manually updated to sold by "importing auctions" frequently during the day...I don't use AW WBN notifications because I don't like the checkout feature (Paypal WBN is free)..but I do like most of the other things AW offers especially the post sale management

Hi all,

For Greengate: mailstep is a free service. You may learn more about this by clicking here

For Neglus: WBN is integrated in our post sale management services. Importing auctions feature is designed to help you manage and run post sale process for listings launched outside AW, and cannot help you in updating the status of an existing listing. Fixed price items latency problem is also solved with mailstep.

Mail step is not an alternative. I received my first neg because AW failed to send out a WBN early in the software development stages, so that lesson taught me to keep control of my mail and my sales. As a fourth party to a business transaction the AW service represents some risk and I use it with that understanding.

The best example of why I am cautious is because of the "glitch" we are addressing here. My customer purchased and did not receive a WBN from AW had I not checked Ebay, my own mail and AW I would have headed out for my 3 day trip to Canada without a contact being made to my customer which represents the posibility of another neg in Ebay feedback because of not receiving a WBN, and that "has been the subject of previous threads" also.

If AW gets too complicated customers are going to bail and use Ebay directly. There are many features that are attractive which is why I ride the glitchs when they come.

User friendly and reliable is all Im looking for.
