While upgrading our databases, we uncovered a transient error that affected certain listings that had a state transition between approximately 4:00 AM and 3:00 PM Pacific on Feb1. Examples of state transitions affected include listings transitioning from open to closed, WBNs sent, WBN reminders sent, payment received, shipping notices sent, or listings archived. The transient error causes the item status to revert to its previous state. Please be assured that we are continuing to analyze the issue.

We apologize for any inconvenience created by this. The database upgrade was to migrate our databases onto faster machines. As a result, you should see even faster performance in the future.

Regards,

Diana

I, too, am getting emails and in one case a duplicate payment for auctions ending February 1. In addition I have at least one auction #2807909942 that is not paid and does not show up in my Awaiting Payment Auctions. I need to check further to see if there are any others. A payment reminder went out (in error) on auction #2806028036. This auction does not show in my Awaiting Paymen but the bidder received a reminder to pay. The high bidder for auction #2703776282 sent me a duplicate payment today (in error)and this auction also does not show as needing payment and I can only assume this bidder received a notice to pay (and doesn't realize he already did pay). What a mess. Do we need to check anything else?

I also just realized that auction #2807909942
does not show up in Post Sale at all. This auction is still awaiting payment. I am a long time AW user and really rely on your service. I don't know how many more I might have like this. When this is fixed can we expect to get all our listing back into Sales Manager?

Many of my items in various stages are now in the prior stages as described in the beginning post of this thread. Is AW attempting to restore the data (shipping addresses etc.) in some auctions have been lost or am I expected to manually attempt to restore my data as best I can matching to various payment records etc?

Update: I have gone over much of my data and find many more auctions which have been affected by this. Is AW attempting to restore this data or am I on my own?

Hello,

We will be continuing to work on this, but if you have sales that are not appearing in your control panel you should be able to manually import these using Import or Track (use Track if the item is closed.) For post-sale issues, you may want to re-enter missing information manually.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience presented by this.

For post sale items you suggest reentering the information manually. How can this be done when the listing does not appear anywhere in Sales Manager? I have lost at least 3 auctions # 2807909682
# 2807909942 # 2807913328.
They do not appear anywhere in Sales Manager. I even did a search with no luck. Will they ever come back? They are awaiting payment and are not complete.

I also have 14 auctions stuck in Pending with an error message. These are old auctions
that originally launched on 2/1/03. Most of them are completed/sold. Hopefully they won't somehow relaunch. What a mess.

I have no idea where many of the auctions that have lost data should be and will need to go through various paper records and PayPal payments in order to reconstruct my data. Realistically this will take me many hours. I am trying to decide if it is worth the effort involved or if I would be better served moving to a more reliable system with offline backups.

Hello karalun,

We have re-tracked the missing items into Post-Sale, however, you will notice that the buyer checkout information is blank. You might want to manually reenter this information, or resend the WBN to the buyer so that they can fill out the information again.

As for the processing items, these should not launch - I notice a group of errored auctions in your account, you may delete these if they are the affected items.

Hello davebraun,

Note that we do offline backups, unfortunately in this case we discovered an error that affected this system. I unfortunately do not have a timeframe on any data restoration that might take place. If there is anything I can do personally to assist you with reentering the information, please email me at [email protected].

Thanks, and again, I apologize for the inconvenience.

Best regards,

Diana

Hello,

The database has been resynchronized, so the problems outlined in this thread should be resolved now. Please let us know if you continue to experience problems.

Thanks,

Diana

ORDER 559131043 contains a paid for item that is also listed as waiting for checkout. The item appears in two places. This is one instance that I researched and confirmed, there are a number of other items which I suspect are incorrect. I do not have the time to deal with them this morning but will be getting back to them as time permits and will let you know the extent of corruption in the "fixed" db that I am able to confirm.

2610736009 also appears in two different stages

Hello davebraun,

Earlier this morning, we resynchronized the Sales Manager database from a backup in an effort to help correct the side-effects from the database error that occurred on February 19. The merging of the data should have corrected most cases, but you may still notice that there are exceptions. If you notice duplicate listings in different states, you should be able to delete the incorrect listing.

Thank you for your patience.

Thank you for your efforts. I have or will archive the duplicate items and memo them to be omited from any downloads that I do in the future to excel as I do not believe that I have any way to delete them entirely on AW.
