I'm trying to relist 3 to 4 items. I edit the first one fine. Then I try to edit the second one, but my screen flashes with a message that site can't access (504), too many people may be trying to access.

This has happened over and over today. I've shut down, cleared the history, etc., but no luck. Any ideas?

Hello,

What is your ISP -- is it WebTV or is it AOL?

Thanks for the fast response. It is AOL 6.0

Hi Beman,

Thank you for letting me know. The timeout problem you have described appears to be limited to AOL users. Please contact AOL about this -- if when they respond, they say that the problem lies on our end, please write them back and ask them to contact "[email protected]". We would be happy to work with their network engineers in order to resolve this problem, but we cannot find any issue on our end that would cause this.

In the meantime, you might want to try using a different AOL dialup number, or a different ISP if you have one available to you. I am sorry that I am unable to offer a better solution at this time.

Regards,

Sonya

Thanks for checking into it and I'll follow your advice. Today, I'm shutting down, so I'll try tomorrow and hope the problem resolves itself.

I've contacted AOL and it says it doesn't appear to be on their end. Now, what can I do? This 504 error takes place when I attempt to edit a second auction to relist. Please help. Is anyone else having this problem?

Hello beman,

Do you have an item which you are trying to relist currently and receiving this error? We would like to test it to see what is happening.

yes, I've tried five today. All went to my pending files when they wouldn't relist. I was about to try 2718121285 and 2718120699. You should be able to edit and save the first, but upon an attempt to get to "edit" with the second item, I get the 504 error. Let me know what happens or what I can do. Thanks.

Hello beman,

Thank you for the information. Error 504 is an AOL timing out issue. We are currently in communication with AOL but it does appear to be an AOL issue. You might be able to get around this issue by using a different browser, different dialup number, or a different ISP.

As you can imagine, since I only get the 504 issue with AuctionWatch, AOL tells me it is an AW issue. I hope your discussions with each other will be a success. Please let me know if there is anything I can do here. Am I the only one with the problem?

Hi beman,

We are still in talks with AOL on why they are running into this gateway error with our site. No reslution has been found as of yet.

We will continue to work with them on this, and will post an update to this issue as soon as one becomes available.

I also use AOL. I had this problem a couple weeks ago and it was never resolved. I am still only able to edit and relist one at a time. It just happened one day - i was always able to edit and relist many items at one time up until then. I do it now directly through Internet Explorer and I am able to edit relist many at a time. You might try that until they get it fixed.

I am also having this problem. I have AOL 8.0. Can only edit one relist at a time. The only way around it is to schedule the relists into pending and then unschedule the auctions, edit them and then reschedule them. A great time waster. I do believe it is an AOL problem also. Ever since I "upgraded" (HAH)to 8.0 I have been having all sorts of strange problems. I get the "504 timed out" message when I try to get into MyEbay "All" page or when I try to go to the BidPay site. AOL has been no help at all.

Hello,

Our engineers are still investigating this timeout issue, we will provide updates as we receive them. We recommend you try using Internet Explorer as a workaround. If you have contacted AOL please let us know what they have said.

Thanks for writng back. I contacted AOL and they said (2 different techs) that since I'm only getting the timeout error on AuctionWatch then obviously it is an Auctionwatch problem. I tend to agree.

I am still also having this problem. It seems that this issue is on the back burner with AW. It really is a time waster. Would appreciate any information or updates on solutions.

Okay, so now I'm getting a series of numbers instead of the 504 error. I still can't relist more than one item at a time.

It's been 8 weeks since my first post--any progress?? Anyone out there have an idea about how this problem can be solved?
