I noticed most of my sales tax payments are incorrect and after a little investigation I noticed that the sales tax payment section on the checkout seems to be very confusing.
Is there any changes planned on making this easier or better than it is now?

I noticed that several people are paying a sales tax when it's obvious that only Missouri residents need to pay ... it's time consuming to have to refund it ... especially if they don't use paypal.
Are there that many idiots out there?
Having a computer and shopping on line means they should be at least halfway intelligent ... maybe it IS a little too confusing on the checkout as the original poster of this topic says.
You might want to consider adding some extra text in your sales tax instructions box, telling those customers to enter in x.xx for the tax based on their state. This may help with any confusion on how tax works. I will check and see if a tax change is in the works.
Susanhaywood: You might want to include some more information about tax for Missouri residents in your WBN email and welcome messages.

I used to have trouble with people putting the wrong numbers in the sales tax boxes, or paying when they didn't need to. I went to Post Sale Mgt Options, and in the sales tax information box, put a note, telling them exactly what to put.
Example:
If your order is being shipped to Florida, enter 06.00 in the boxes.
Before I changed this note, to read this way, I was receiving tax payments for other states, and in strange amounts (mostly .06%).
Since I changed my wording, I haven't had any problems.
