I was shopping last night and the vendio templates are making me scroll sideways

I never used to have to scroll sideways

how come I have to scroll sideways?

I will not shop on auctions I have to scroll sideways on
this is a major problem for me therefore it is a major problem for some others, not everyone has a 20" monitor.

When can we expect it repaired, if ever?

Good morning dudlee,

The auctions which you were looking at were from other Vendio users? or were they your own?

Best regards,

Tara

they are other peoples auctions as I was shopping I noticed certain templates scroll sideways.....i hate scrolling sideways and will not look at too many of their other aucitons if I have to scroll sideways.....and this cost them bids, and if I am like that other bidders are like that.

the green border one scrolls now, it never used to

several of the grey ones scroll sideways and they never used to

the beige one with brown is still ok and does not make me scroll sideways.

AW templates have never been a problem for me, like a few other services tmeplates that are.

Hello,

Needing to scroll to see the rest of the template/auction is dependant on two different things.
One of them is the general layout combined with how you display your images. An example would be someone whom does not scale down their images with the click to enlarge option we offer, along with the template showing 'images on top' where there are supposed to be 3 across the top of the page.

Even when you scale the images down, using that image layout will cause users with smaller resulution settings on their monitors to need to scroll, and without the enlarged image option, all users would need to scroll depending on the original size of the image uploaded.

The other scenario would be long lines of characters without a break. Sometimes users just getting started do not know how to make a line break ( <br> ) - so they will place a long line of characters without a space to break up the page. The problem with that is that if there are no spaces in that long line of characters, the template will be forced to extend out to the point where the user finally did allow for a space. Sometimes this can cause a simple template to extend far past where it would have resized iteself based on the users monitor settings and the actual space the text and images needed to be displayed.

The bottom line is just to make sure to use the eBay preview prior to submitting your items, and to change the image layout where images are only 1 or 2 wide in the listings themselves if you are having trouble with yours fitting on the page.

Regards,
Christopher

thanx Christopher that is understandable however
a question...

don't your templates stay stationary in size and make the text fit their dimensions, I always assumed they did?

let me check a few more things with a couple of sellers, and see if this is indeed the problem, I have one in mind I would like to use as a sample but I need to ask permission first.

I personally until last night had never that I can remember, encountered a scroll sideways problem with your green border template which is one of my personal favourites.

Hello,

"don't your templates stay stationary in size and make the text fit their dimensions, I always assumed they did?"

Yes, they will always resize themselves to best fit the screen, however they can only resize themselves smaller to the point where either the images take up space on the page, or one long line of characters are entered without a space. In those cases, the edge of the image/text(wo/spacing) is as far down as it can be resized.

Christopher

by spacing you refer to <br>

I use the <p> every couple fo sentences to break it up, does that accomplish the same thing, I wish to avoid this sideways scrolling in my auctions, and I use click to enlarge all the time, just cause I like it.....<grin>

I also use pictures down the left side usually, will I be ok in the future?

i am genuinely concerned about this.....it should be made more public, it is most annoying when shopping.

how about an announcement or something...a few of the sellers I communicated with had no idea they were doing it.
