Vendio is pleased to announce the release of our new, fully-customizable templates. After hearing your input and feedback regarding our existing template system, the Vendio team worked hard to produce a new template system which puts YOU in control. You don't need to know a single line of HTML to change over 40 different template characteristics, and your listings never need to look like anyone else's again.

Take a look through the Template Showcase to see some of the millions of styles that are possible to create with our new system. Starting today, you can create and add new templates to your Saved Templates list, and create listings with them in Sales Manager. Sales Manager Pro users can create templates into their Saved Templates list online, which will be synchronized and usable with the new version of Sales Manager Pro due out next week.

For more information, please check out our Fully Customizable Templates Tour or FAQ.

Happy Selling,

The Vendio Team

I am very happy to see the new templates. However, my first attempts to use have been very frustrating. It seems to be difficult to maneuver around. For instance, unless you first choose where you want your photos placed, there is no way to get back to that page. You do not have an edit button with regards to photo placement. I had to start all over to get the photo placement tab. Also, I don't want to necessairy "save and name" every template I use. In your old way, you could use a template once and not save it, but it looks like you have to save and name every single time you use a new design. These were just a couple of the intial problems I had. I'm sure it will get easier as I become more familiar with how everything works. I just wanted to bring to your attention some of my first impressions. I didn't see a lot of new holiday (especially Christmas) designs, which I thought would be a focus, but oh well.

I've run into another problem. When I'm doing a relist, how can I change to a new style template without losing the template I have stored. It appears I have to overwrite the template name to save it, so does that mean that I lose my original template?

Hello toyspast,

If you edit your template during the process of relisting, and rename it using "save as", it will be saved as an entirely new template while retaining your original. You can then apply the new template to your relist.

I hope this answers your question. If not, please let us know.

Thanks,

Diana

Hi, toyspast --

Also, with regard to the image layouts/photo placement, you can choose a layout from both the "Style & Layout" AND "Description Box" consoles. Just click on the "Edit Description Box" button in the Template Workshop. This brings up the Description Box console, which enables you to set the background, border and layout for the images and description area of your template.

Also, we do intend to regularly update the various libraries, so holiday templates are sure to increase as we approach that season.

Please let us know if there is any other information we can provide.

Thanks --

Good morning fernandesonline,

In Sales Manager Pro, create batch listings using one of the original templates from your Saved Templates list.
Schedule the items in the batch to be launched at some point in the future and upload the batch.

To update the template for individual listings, use Sales Manager online to unschedule and edit those uploaded items for which you want to use a new template.

To update the template for multiple listings at once, without unscheduling-and-re-scheduling, make sure that your batch listings all use the same original template.

After uploading your batch, go to your Template Preferences page under the My Account tab and use Template Workshop to create and save a new template with the same name as the original template, overwriting the original.

Any listings that used the original template will be automatically updated to use the new template of the same name.

(For another example of how to update the template for multiple items at once, please see "How can I change or update the template for multiple pending listings at once?" below.)

Hope this helps, we will be releasing a new version of Sales Manager Pro shortly which you will be able to use the new custom templates in.

Let us know if we can further assist you.

Cheers,
Tara

Note that before taking this step as outlined above:

"After uploading your batch, go to your Template Preferences page under the My Account tab and use Template Workshop to create and save a new template with the same name as the original template, overwriting the original."

You should first create a copy of the original template so that when you overwrite the original template with the newly created one, you will not lose the original completely.

Thanks,

Diana
