I assume you've read:

http://pages.ebay.com/Pre-filledItemInformation/Preview/index.html

Unfortunately, they are using my area (movies) as their example.

I know that it is optional and, on the face of it, really only useful to a beginning seller. Does Vendio plan a change so that the information submitted will hit the proper areas of this new format?

Or will it be like the headers which Vendio has had a bit of a trial with? I say that because, if you use SM Pro, the headers will only remain as long as the auction is unchanged. If you want to sell a given film tonight in another category, any category change wipes out the entire header.

You must be doing that to adapt to other types of sales because with films, it is a big headache. I had to switch to on-line launching and that takes forever if you have several hundred auctions to put up.

And you have it set so SM Pro cannot get information from on-line other than importing (which is a horror.)

Hello there,

We are aware of this, and we will be offering support for the Pre-filled Item Information feature. I am not sure at this point what the feature will entail, but it will be supported.

I am not sure what you mean by the headers being wiped out when you change categories in Pro - can you explain in a little more detail so I can try to replicate the problem?

Thanks,

Diana

Hi Diana -

For example, I create a new auction in SM Pro. While editing on Ebay specifics page, I set the category for drama (2296); and I fill out "item specifics" next. I launch, save and put it away.

Next time, I decide to try 2 launches, same item, in different categories. I launch drama, then change "action" category and launch.

Two things happened. Action was launched without item specifics; and the auction itself in SM Pro also no longer has item specifics.

Often I will put certain DVDs in six different categories. I don't care if the item is about "martial arts". I only want this DVD to be exposed to those that would look in martial arts. Do I have to change the entire header every time I want to alter a category?

Also, why bother to have me enter a category if the "item specifics" governs where the DVD is placed?

Again, my same old complaint. Some of these nuances by your programmers are too cute by half. You should have the "item specifics" and the category operate independently. Leave it up to me to determine what goes where.

Another example. I worked for days to use the cross-merchandising discounts on hundreds of auctions. When I tried it out a couple of days ago, I wasn't pleased at all with the layout of the page.

First of all, you have a line through the old price and the new price beneath. Even though it says "with this purchase", it is unclear whether this is just for that buyer or for every Tom, Dick and Harry. We all get thousands of spams from everywhere and they all have prices with lines through them. (But the lines don't turn all "8"s into "0"s as your lines do, thus making it appear on some items that I went up in price.)

You lead off that discount section with "You may be interested in purchasing some of these items as well". Geez, Louise, c'mon. "As a thank you for your purchase, the following discounts are just for you!" Or some such to indicate that he/she is being rewarded for buying. If you don't specifically tie cross-merchandising with reward, you miss the point. In merchandising, never assume. You don't target the smartest of your audience.
