Hello,

This is unfortunately, a side effect of the new eBay Ipix tool. Until it is fully supported through the API, we have to use a workaround to place your images in that upper left hand corner location. In doing so, the image we place there, the first image you attached, is now the gallery image as well.

eBay takes the images submitted as the gallery images and hosts them on their own site. When they do this, they use their iPix image hosting system, which frames your image in that white box. This is typical of images that are taller than they are wide, where it creates a large white space on the sides of the image, making it appear much smaller.

Christopher

Is Vendio working on this? It is useless to have Gallery pics now. They are so tiny no one can see them. This is getting really frustating. Everyday it is some new crisis. What is the solution??

Hello margar,

We do not have control over how eBay manipulates your gallery images unfortunately. The only solution would be to avoid using overly wide or tall images as the gallery image, so eBay does not make them small looking with the white box around them.

Thanks Christopher for the reply. I will have to remember to check the size of my images more carefully. It is just so frustrating with ebay. Everyday they do something else to the site that creates more work for everyone else. They really need to remember "If it aint broke - don't fix it". Question - does my Gallery picture HAVE to be the first photo in my list of photos that I use? I thought that ebay always picked the first photo even if I designate photo number 4 (for example) to be the Gallery photo.

Hello margar,

Unfortunately, with the whole iPix mess/that upper left hand corner image issue, the first image attached does (for now) have to be the gallery image.

Once eBay fully supports our listing through their API to include this iPix feature (both for opting in and out), we will be able to go back to having you select whichever image you want as the gallery image again. (it would not have to be the first as it is now)

Regards,
Christopher
