With the new paypal integration, is a Payment Received Message automatically sent to the customer when the payment is applied?
It does not happen automatically, but it can if you want it to. From the My Account tab, click on the Post Sale Mgmt Options link found within and look for the section labeled 'Payment Received Notification.'
