I have changed my email address with Ebay from "mailstep" back to my hotmail account, and I am still receiving messages from Ebay at the mailstep address. How do I correct this problem?

Also, I received an email last night from Ebay, that states: "During our regular update and verification of the accounts, we could not verify your current information. Either your information has changed or it is incomplete. As a result, your access to bid or buy on eBay has been restricted. According to our site policy you will have to confirm that you are the real owner of the eBay account by log in and complete the form that will pop up or else your account will be suspended without the right to register again with eBay."

I thought maybe this had something to do with the "mailstep account" that I do not use anymore, because all of my other information is the same. Before I give any information, I want to make sure that this is a legitimate email from Ebay, and no one else. Please assist me with this matter.

Thanks,
kiang kollections

Hello,

What messages are you receiving from eBay that are going to your Mailstep ID? Once you change it you shouldn't receive anything else from it. If the latter email you mention was directed to your Mailstep ID -- that looks like one of the scams that has been going around, where people are getting their account information stolen after providing the information those emails ask for. We recommend you email that to eBay as it appears to be suspicious.

Regards,

Sonya

Thanks Sonya,

The email I received from Ebay that was sent to my mailstep account (even though I changed my email address from my "mailstep account" to my "hotmail account" two weeks ago)states the following:

"During our regular update and verification of the accounts, we could not verify your current information. Either your information has changed or it is incomplete. As a result, your access to bid or buy on eBay has been restricted. According to our site policy you will have to confirm that you are the real owner of the eBay account by log in and complete the form that will pop up or else your account will be suspended without the right to register again with eBay."

Thanks again,

Hi. I just opted out of Customer Manager and changed back to my Mindspring email, and I received the same message, ostensibly from eBay. I submitted it to [email protected], but I haven't heard back from them yet.

On another front, can Sonya or someone else enlighten me about my continuing problem with not receiving alerts from PayPal when someone has paid?

As I understand it, the alert goes to Vendio, which extracts the payment information for Sales Manager and then sends the PayPal email on to my regular account (in this case my AOL account).

But if that is the way it's supposed to work, taint working! When I get a payment, the little box is checked off in Sales Manager and the buyer's name and address are there -- but I get nothing to tell me that a payment has been received.

I would like not to depend on looking for that third box to be checked, or be forever running to my PayPal account to find out when someone has paid for one of my many auctions. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks,
Marshall

Just heard back from eBay: That message about your (actually MY) account did not originate with eBay. It is, as I thought, a spoof to try to harvest your personal information. But it is a VERY official looking email! Marshall

Hello,

You still have your PayPal email address stored in Global Preferences as your Vendio email. Try changing that to your AOL address, this way we will know you've got everything set up properly. If you continue to not get your alerts, let us know.

I deleted the topic you started on this issue, since I am answering it for you here.

Regards,

Sonya

Hi again, Sonya,

Just wanted to say that that did do the trick! I am now getting my PayPal notifications in AOL as I wanted. Thanks much. Marshall
