Hello,

Recently, Paypal announced changes to their ALI (Automatic Logo Insertion) system, which previously inserted the Paypal "smart" logo into your listings automatically. ALI was essentially discontinued at PayPal, and an eBay preference took its place. Unfortunately, it appears that some accounts may have been automatically set up with Paypal, which may be what caused your listings to fail since the preference set is now in conflict with the PayPal settings you have at Vendio.

We are in the process of investigating this, and it would be helpful if you could let us know if one or both of the boxes under My eBay -> Preferences -> Update payment/checkout preferences -> PayPal Preference were checked automatically for you, or if you checked one of these boxes yourself prior to receiving the listing errors.

You should be able to eliminate the errors by doing one of the following things:

1. If you do not want eBay Checkout or a Pay Now button at the top of your closed listings:

Log into your eBay account and go to your My eBay page. Click on the Preferences link found on this page, then on the 'Update payment preferences' link on that page.

From here, uncheck both Paypal preferences. Leave the "Show Pay Now button for PayPal only" preference selected under Pay Now preferences. Click the 'Submit' button at the bottom of the page when finished.

Note: This option will not display PayPal in the eBay specific payment options, but Vendio will both list PayPal as well as provide the logo within your listings automatically.

2. If you want a Pay Now button at the top of your closed listings:

Log into your Vendio account, click on the My Account tab, then on the Global Preferences link. Under your stored PayPal ID, check the box labeled 'Include the PayPal Checkout button and logo in my listing' - then scroll to the bottom of the page and click to save the change. Update your eBay preferences according to what you want displayed in your listings.

Note: This option may discourage buyers from completing Vendio Checkout and may result in payments not being recorded in your post-sale system since these options will enable the Pay Now button at eBay when the listing ends.

Regards,
Christopher

PS - this applies to the other thread you just opened, so we closed it to keep the issue contained here.

OK, I'VE DONE WHAT YOU SAID.

MY QUESTION NOW IS: WILL THE AUCTIONS HAVE TO BE RESENT TO EBAY OR WILL ALL THE AUCTIONS THAT DIDN'T SHOW UP, NOW BE SENT AUTOMATICLY???

We have already sent scheduled auctions on 10-13-03 to start on 10-15-03, will these auctions now be launched through SALES MANAGER PRO or will we now have to resend them also???

Hello,

Auctions that eBay return in error do not automatically resubmit from online or Pro. You would need to either upload them from Pro again, or simply select all of the items showing error in your pending section, then click to resubmit them.

From the Sales Manager tab, if you click to view your pending items only first using the pending link along the left hand side of the page, you can do this in bulk.

Your eBay Motors items listed without error because eBay is not forcing these new PayPal requirements on your Motors listings.

Christopher

OK, but I still have a question that you have not answered. We scheduled auctions to start on Wednesday also; these auctions were sent using SALES MANAGER PRO, 3 days ago and are to actually start the evening of 10-15-03 at approximately 9:00 PM. These auctions have not started yet but should start tomorrow. We made the corrections to “Pay pal preferences” (TODAY, 10-14-03) after the auctions where scheduled and sent using SALES MANAGER PRO, but will not actually start until tomorrow. My question is, WILL THESE AUCTIONS START AT THE SCHEDULED TIMES TOMORROW OR DO WE HAVE TO RESEND THEM?? I NEED TO KNOW FOR SURE, AS WE DON’T WANT TO RESEND ALL THESE ITEMS AND HAVE DOUBLE LISTINGS FOR ALL THESE ITEMS..

Hello,

Items showing error will not resubmit on their own. If you have already rescheduled these items, then there is no worry, as the changes you have made since they originally were sent back in error by eBay have since been corrected.

If the items are currently scheduled to list, they will start at their currently scheduled times now that your fixes are in place.

Regards,
Christopher
