I am one of the sellers that has the Paypal Buyer Protection plan. It occurred to me that I should check how this recent change with paypal might effect that. Does anyone there know? Apparently the seller will have a logo displayed in their ads that inform buyers of this plan, but I'm wondering now if that means I would have to turn all that stuff back on to be able to get it. I use the HTML copy and paste for the Paypal smart logo in my ad now, but have disabled any other ways to check-out other then the Vendio check-out. Can anyone tell me if there is a way to get the Buyer Protection logo in my ads without changing any of my preferences?

Hi toyspast,
To get the Buyer Protection displayed on your listings, eBay and PayPal require you to submit PayPal as a payment preference when you list your item. In other words, you would need to change your PayPal preference at Vendio to "Include the PayPal Checkout button and logo in my listing." You do NOT need to change any preference at eBay to enable this feature.
Obviously, that change presents a potential conflict with your desire to use Vendio Checkout, since some buyers may use the PayNow button instead of Vendio Checkout. If you have decided offering Buyer Protection is more important than assuring Vendio Checkout use by buyers, we recommend three additional actions:
1. Add language in listings more strongly suggesting Vendio Checkout is your preferred checkout method. You can alter/add this text in the "Payment Instructions" in MyAccount/eBay Site Specifics.
2. Select the eBay Pay Now button preference "Show Pay Now button for PayPal only." This preference will not enable eBay checkout for checks/money orders/etc.
3. Set up Instant Notifications at PayPal. While you won't get the full benefits of Vendio Checkout, you will be able to capture payments that may occur through PayPal directly, including the eBay Pay Now button. You can learn more about these notification by clicking the "receive notifications" link next to the PayPal preference.
We are working on more elegant solutions to resolve this conflict, and we hope to have more information related to those a bit later this year. Thanks and take care.
