Hi, in inventory why is there a field for average item cost this does not show up anywhere in the downloaded csv files or any other place in post sale. the reason i'm asking is i'm trying to put a dollar amount on my inventory and before going through 100's of inventoried items would like to know if there is any benefit to listing our avg item cost in the field in question

Hello,
That is meant for your own purposes -- it doesn't show up anywhere on the listing or in post sale. Many people who use inventory will use that field to calculate the average cost of that particular item, that they sell a lot of. It's optional so you do not have to fill it out if you don't want to.

Hi Sonya, Thanks for the response but I would like to use it to put a dollar amount on all of my inventory but the question is where do i get this dollar amount from is it from going to each individual item and calculating the avg cost and what i have left in stock or is there a way to downlaod every item into a spreadsheet as of right now it does not put this field into a CSV file. please let me know if there is another way of getting this

Hello,
The amount is not really drawn from anywhere specific -- it is determined by you so you can enter in whatever amount you please. If you want to have an item amount in your inventory entries, in the Store Information tab and in the Auction Information tab there is an item price space for you to enter it in.

Hi Again Sonia, Sorry for the confusion what I am trying to ask is if i put the avg price amount at inventory in the required field how do i add up the avg dollar amount of all my inventoried items. as of right now there is no way to downlaod this info from a CSV file is there another way to get this avg dollar amount for all of my inventory items combined
