I'm having an issue with a relist. Tried to relist it last night and it errored out three times. Tried again tonight. Same issue. What is happening is that it keeps losing its category specifics. I keep putting them back and then the auction errors out and the error message I get is this:

"Error 5112: Attribute Set Id does not match category.
Attribute Set Id "1275" does not match category you have entered for this request.
Note: this error may be related to the Item Specifics content you entered. Please review content in 'other' fields in the Item Specifics section for validity and number of characters."

When I go back into the auction, the category specifics are missing! And, my gallery image has changed as well . Weird! I simply cannot get this to relaunch, no matter how many times I put the category specifics back, they disappear upon launch and it errors out. Any ideas???

Hi Lennonhall, I was having the exact same problem. Check my thread. Good ol Christopher somehow got it to launch. Good luck, Steve

Thanks Cyberagent ... I posted on your thread as well. Maybe I too will get some help! I literally have tried to launch this auction 5 times and errored out for the same reason every time.

Hello Lennonhall,

The error you are receiving means eBay has either added item specifics to the category you are listing in, or they have changed the item specifics for the category you are listing in.

To resolve this error, please locate the Category section on the create listing page (underneath templates, above Features) and click on the Edit Category button. In some cases, after you do this, you will need to reselect your category starting with the Top Category -- but in most cases, hitting the Continue button will be sufficient. After selecting your category, you will be returned to the create listing page. Scroll down to the category selection area, where you should see some item specifics options. Fill them out, then Save your listing and proceed with launch.

Let me know if your item doesn't launch after trying this.

Regards,

Sonya

Sonya,
The problem is still there. I did again what I have been doing several times on my own today, trying to re-list items, as you instructed. It is still showing the same error.
I selected the category - again - I did not enter any specifics (I would have loved to, but I wanted to avoid problems). I launched. It told me it was scheduled. Then a few minutes later it is showing the same error. I have two re-listings pending, which are impossible to launch, due to the same problem.
I am not new at listing on ebay. There is a problem somewhere and it is not on our (sellers) end.
Thank you very much for your help. This situation is frustrating. Maybe Ebay site?

SONYA - PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME WE DO NOT KNOW WHAT WE ARE DOING. I know exactly what it did. The item specifics for my category did NOT change. In fact, it erased my item specifics on a relist - they were there on the original auction but not on the relist. It also changed my gallery image! I put the item specifics back and the auction errored out for the same reason ... I went in an looked and sure enough the item specifics were gone again. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME FIVE TIMES ON THE SAME AUCTION. I keep putting the item specifics back and they keep disappearing on me again. AW: Please look into this -- it's happening to enough of us that it is CLEARLY NOT OUR FAULT ... something is wrong with Vendio/eBay interface. Thank you.

I went back to my 2 pendings items. Clicked again on each one of them. I SAVED -I already know by now that they are correct with the category and the specifics, which I have deleted way earlier. Then I LAUNCHED. I had a message about their beeing scheduled right away for launch. AND I ended up with the same error again a few minutes later.
I just hope both will not be listed as many times as I tried to list them today by tomorrow.
As mentioned above, there is an obvious problem. Maybe not Vendio, maybe Ebay? But since I am using Vendio to launch ALL my listings, I will appreciate your help with this issue.
Sonya, thank you very much in advance!

Hello,

I was not assuming you didn't know what you were doing -- I did not see this solution suggested yet for your problem and wanted to make sure all bases were covered.

Lennonhall and Vivabe -- do you mind if we try to list both of your auctions?

Sonya

Sonya, thank you for your attention.
Yes, please, do so for my two listings. I just tried again and it is still erroning.
Both are in the "pottery & Glass" category, each one in a different subcategory.

On one of them -the dish-, when I was on the "select ebay category" with the subcategories highlighted, I even changed the categories, hilighted something else, then came back to highligh the ones I needed. I did not use the "specific" to prevent further problems.
I saved. I re-opened. I launched. Few seconds later the error showed up.
Thanks a lot. I am not sure when you will try to list them but I usually list in the evening. Anyway, not a big deal. Thank you for your help.

Sonya, yes please try to launch this listing again tonight. I usually launch at 9:30PM Eastern, 6:30 Pacific. I will, once again, go back and change the item specifics ... putting them back for the sixth time and hopefully they will relaunch if you are able to do this.

My "error" message next to this auction is gone (it was there this morning!) so you won't know which one it is -- it's the Evangeline Redware pieces. Thanks

Hello,

Lennonhall -- I was able to list your auction but unfortunately, I had to do it as a copy. However it listed and is in your Active List.

Vivabe -- to list your two auctions, click on the blue 'copy' button in the upper right corner of the edit auction screen, and launch the copy.

Unfortunately if they were relists, the 'copy' method launches them as new listings. If you want to get the relist credit you'll have to list these items in totally different categories, then edit the category when they are live. This particular attribute error is unique from the others as this is the only way to fix it at this time -- it's an eBay API error, as soon as it has been fixed we will let you know. Thank you for your patience and your cooperation.

Regards,

Sonya

Sonya,
As I replied in the other post, changing the CATEGORY, then revising later, will NOT help with launching/re-listing. I tried and it did not work. It still errored.
The ONLY way is to COPY and RE-SUBMIT. I did not know it would incur fees, though. Little surprised and good to know. These are not major listings and I will not sweat it. Enough time and efforts already spent on this.
I will check the thread in the future to find out what is going on. I relisted two other totally different items -not pottery related- with no problem at all on the same day I tried to relist the two we are talking about.
Thank you for your help!

I forgot to mention that when the items are in the "pending" section, with the "error" message, the "copy" box does not show. It is repplaced by "details" (for the error).
The only way to get the copy box once the item you try to relist is errored is to
(1)click edit
(2)do nothing
(3)save
(4)return to sales manager and pending items. THEN the copy box is available
(5)copy
(6)submit

Hello,

You can actually copy from within the listing -- it doesn't have to be from just the Control Panel. Go to the edit screen for your item, and look in the upper right hand corner to see the blue Copy button.

We'll update this thread as we learn more, since it's an eBay API error we will need to wait for it to be fixed there so you can resubmit with ease.

Sonya

I already tried to copy the listing and relist it and it errored out. Can't figure out what you must have done to get it to relist. Did you change the category?

Thank you Sonya.
Yes, it is probably an Ebay problem -I am not very good with technical terminologies -in the POTTERY category. It has a lot of subcategories with specifics.
I relisted two items tonight with no problems, in a different category.
Thanks for your help and I hope my comments can help.

Hi Lennonhall,

I didn't change anything -- after I hit copy, I went and launched the copy. If you are having problems with it, let me know which item and I'll see if I can get it listed.

Regards,

Sonya
